Environmental Engineer

As an Environmental Engineer, you will partner with the Senior Professional Engineer in the administration of the Walt Disney World air compliance program. You will ensure compliance with the Title V Air Operation Permit, Clean Air Act regulations, and the Green House Gas reporting rule and make sure we are in compliance with all State and Federal air quality regulations. This will involve submitting compliance reports, preparing and submitting the annual operating report, updating the operating permit to reflect changes in air emissions and performing engineering evaluations/quantification of new emissions. You will also maintain an inventory of all air emission sources (e.g. emergency generators, boilers, water heaters), emissions recordkeeping, tracking and calculating the annual CO2 emissions, and preparing the Green House Gas Report.

The Environmental Engineer plays an important role in other environmental programs, such as refrigerants, Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC), hazardous and regulated waste, and storage tank regulations, as assigned. You will be in the field conducting inspections of hazardous waste accumulation areas, conducting hazardous waste training and refrigerant training, and updating SPCC plans as necessary.

Assistant Researcher, Ecosystem Sciences

The Department Environmental Science, Policy and Management at the University of California, Berkeley seeks applications for an Assistant Professional Researcher in the Quantitative Ecosystem Dynamic lab.

The Quantitative Ecosystem Dynamics group at UC Berkeley is looking for a Professional Researcher to serve as Deputy Director for the FLUXNET Community Council (FCC). FLUXNET is an international network of scientists using eddy covariance (EC) data, and the FCC is a recently-established body of international EC experts dedicated to enhancing FLUXNET science and building international community.

The Professional Researcher in this role will also be expected to maintain an active, independent research agenda in the field of eddy covariance science. Research should focus on the collection, processing, and/or analysis of eddy covariance data with the goal of improving understanding of ecosystem greenhouse gas emissions. The Researcher will be expected to collaborate locally with colleagues conducting EC field work, as well as domestic and international colleagues conducting flux research.

Specific responsibilities of the position include:
Develop an independent research program using eddy covariance flux data to better understand carbon cycling in ecosystems. Develop a robust publication record and secure grant funding from relevant federal, state, and philanthropic sources.
Plan and execute all FCC-related activities. This includes (but is not limited to) running the FLUXNET Secondment and Workshop programs, leading FLUXNET Annual Meeting planning, coordinating all FCC committee activity, and supporting the release of a new FLUXNET data product.

EHS&S Manager

Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability Manager (EHS&S)

Position Overview:

The EHS & S Specialist provides technical safety and health support to production and corporate personnel. Develops corporate safety and health programs and objectives and coordinates safety training programs. Monitors safety and health regulations and provides technical support to warehouse and corporate personnel to ensure compliance with federal and state safety and health regulations. The EHS&S specialist will also help plan and implement sustainability programs to meet corporate objectives. The position will work to maintain, support, and reinforce a culture of safety and sustainability within our organization and jointly implement programs, policies, and assessments to ensure the facility (and all of its team members) are in compliance with all internal and governmental health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • The position will partner with operations to play a key role in reducing the risk of incidents and injuries and will drive the implementation of systems that support the company policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Experience with sustainability, including energy efficiency in industrial processes, greenhouse gas emissions reduction, recycling solutions, and supporting sustainable supply chain capacity building is helpful.
  • Performs internal self-assessment activities, and monitors, tracks, and reports key EHS metrics.

  • Responsible for conducting safety walks to ensure safe practices are being observed and to note any unsafe acts, faulty equipment or non-compliance with any safety-related policies. Follows up promptly on corrections required. Review, approve, and write Risk Assessments.
  • Manage the workers’ compensation claims. Work in coordination with General Counsel and Human Resources regarding litigated claims as necessary.
  • Participate in claim reviews with brokers and carriers in order to expedite claims resolution and closures.
  • Manage and maintain all OSHA logs.

  • Supervise all capital projects with regard to the safety of individuals and work in tandem with vendors.
  • Support HR with mandatory postings at all facilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience (preferably in Occupational Safety & Health) or Environmental Science.
  • 2-6 years of experience in an Environmental Health and Safety role.
  • A minimum of two years of total manufacturing/warehouse experience would be an asset.
  • GSP, ASP, or CSP Certification preferred
  • Working knowledge of Federal/State Regulatory Requirements (OSHA, DOT, EPA, etc).
  • OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour training certifications for General Industry preferred

Drinking Water Compliance Coordinator

Assistant Professor, Civil and Sustainability Engineering

Murray State University is seeking a tenure-track, Assistant Professor for the Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Civil and Sustainability Engineering program.

Responsibilities include teaching classes in the civil and sustainability engineering program including, but not limited to, statics, mechanics of materials, transportation, geotechnical engineering, and senior design.
