Assistant Water Plant Supervisor

The Frankfort Plant Board has an opening for a full-time Assistant Water Plant Superintendent. The successful candidate will assist the Water Plant Superintendent in the planning, directing, organizing, coordinating, and evaluating the activities of the Water Treatment Plant Department. The successful candidate will assist in the overall administration, operation, maintenance and special projects of the water treatment plant and insure that plant operations comply with established procedures and standards, federal, state and local laws, and administrative regulation.

Qualified applicants must have a high school education or equivalent, plus 7 years combined experience in drinking water treatment and/or maintenance, plus two years of management or project management experience and must have possessed and maintained a Class IVA license for at least 5 years. Two years of education may be substituted for a minimum of one year of work experience with a maximum of two years may be substituted of work experience. Associate’s degree in Environmental Science, Applied Science or related field is preferred.

Water Resources Engineer III

RES is looking for a Water Resources Engineer III in our Brentwood (Nashville), TN office with at least five (5) years of relevant work or educational experience. Work associated with this position will occur throughout the Southeast Region including work in Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Alabama.

The mission: Manage and/or lead design of stream and wetland restoration projects and stormwater management design plans.

At RES, do not expect to focus solely on design work. You will be involved in all aspects of a successful mitigation restoration project including providing technical input into the land acquisition process, leading initial feasibility site visits, reviewing mitigation design plans, developing technical specifications and directing construction personnel in the field.
What your day-to-day might look like?

80-90% of the time you will be modeling and designing!

Using AutoCAD, GIS and/or other hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, you will be developing models and interpreting results.
You will be responsible for various water resources tasks and projects associated with stream & wetland restoration design, stream crossings, scour analyses, stormwater systems, floodplain studies, and erosion/sediment control.
You will also be preparing mitigation, stormwater, and/or grading and construction plans and designing and sizing various BMPs according to jurisdictional design standards.

10-20% of the time you will be performing data site visits, site recon/assessment & construction oversight – occasional travel is required!
Qualifications

Construction oversight experience for natural resource projects
Experience with AutoCAD/AutoCAD Civil 3D, TR-20/55, HEC-RAS/HMS, XPSWMM and GIS
Advanced knowledge of watershed hydrology, stream geomorphology, physicochemical processes, stream hydraulics, aquatic ecology, & sediment transport.
Advanced knowledge of basic civil site design fundamentals.
Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to not only produce accurate construction documents, but also explain to a variety of audiences with varying technical understanding why particular design approaches were chosen

Senior Environmental Compliance Specialist

We are looking for a knowledgeable and resourceful compliance professional with strong interpersonal skills to provide technical and field support to OUC business units to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

In this role, you will act as a project manager in overseeing environmental compliance for medium- and high-complexity environmental programs and projects. Provide consultation and interpretation of environmental requirements to OUC leaders and employees. Analyze program/project outcomes and regulatory changes to support process improvements/updates. This position will be responsible for providing guidance and oversight to OUC electric generating facilities to ensure compliance with the following environmental programs: coal combustion residual landfill compliance (CCR Rule), non-hazardous and hazardous waste (RCRA), oil spill prevention and control (SPCC), and Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) regulated storage tanks. Assistant Director, Institute for the Environment & Sustainability

Assistant Director to help the Director run all aspects of the Institute for the Environment & Sustainability (IES) (academic, administrative and outreach) with special emphasis on the Master of Environmental Science program including promotion, recruitment, advising, supervising professional service projects and professional development.

DUTIES: The Assistant Director plans and manages graduate student professional service projects for external and internal clients which includes supervising graduate student work, verifying output, recommending alternatives, helping to prepare final reports for clients and ensuring the quality of the work for the clients; advises graduate and undergraduate students on academic planning, career advising and job and internship placement; serves as a reader or advisor on the internship, practicum or thesis committees for some of the master’s students when appropriate. Water Resource Analyst

ABOUT THE POSITION
Under general supervision, conducts water use audits, develops, coordinates,
manages, and implements water conservation programs, monitors drought
stage triggers, represents the Town and work with the regional water providers
on water conservation matters, provides educational materials and services
related to responsible water usage to homeowners, businesses, contractors,
and maintenance service providers, Town-owned facilities and sports recreation
facilities. This position will track and manage the Town’s water portfolio, assist
in updating zoning policies to maximize the Town’s water resources; work with
the following agencies: Arizona Department of Water Resources, Central
Arizona Irrigation District, New Magma Irrigation and Drainage District, Pinal
County Groundwater User Advisory Committee, Pinal County Water
Augmentation Authority, etc. Manage all responsibilities related to the Pinal
County Active Management Plan. Ensure compliance with the responsibilities
as outlined in Town’s designation including the redesignation process. This
position reports to the Public Works Director, but works closely with the Senior
Civil Engineer and staff from other departments.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Resources, Environmental
Sciences, Biology, Watershed Science, Environmental Conservation or closely
related field. Three (3) years of experience in Storm Water Resources,
Watershed Conservation, Environmental Conservation, Irrigation Maintenance
and Installation or closely related field; or an equivalent combination of
education and experience.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
Must have and maintain a valid Arizona Driver’s License. Current holder of a
Landscape Irrigation Auditor Certification is preferred. If not a current holder,
incumbent must be able to obtain certification within one (1) year of of
employment.

Environmental Technician

The City of Ontario is seeking a motivated individual to join the team as an Environmental Technician and continue leading the agency’s efforts in ensuring quality environmental compliance programs are being provided to the residents and businesses of the City of Ontario. Environmental Specialist

The City of Roanoke is seeking an Environmental Specialist who will work with the Water Quality Administrator to ensure on-going compliance of municipal operations with applicable environmental laws. This job provides technical support with regard to the City of Roanoke’s MS4 Program and the Bacteria Monitoring Program. Primary responsibilities include activities associated with MCM#1 Public Education and Outreach, MCM#2 Public Involvement and Participation, MCM#3 Illicit Discharge, and MCM#6 Pollution Prevention and Good Housekeeping for Municipal Operations. Duties include development and implementation of effective environmental programing. Working knowledge of the Clean Water Act, MS4 Programs, and bacteria monitoring with Colilert and HF183 Human Marker are preferred. Candidate must be passionate and knowledgeable about local, regional and national environmental issues; particularly with regard to watershed health, green infrastructure, water quality, citizen science and effective environmental outreach. This position will also assist in floodplain management activities and coordinates Community Rating System (CRS) Program to implement campaigns and outreach material under the NFIP outreach. The successful applicant will manage the City of Roanoke CRS program for annual compliance and 5-Year Verification. Within one year of hire must become a certified floodplain manager and complete CRS training.

Senior Air Quality Specialist

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District (Air District) is a regional government agency, committed to achieving clean air to protect the public’s health and the environment. The District accomplishes this goal through regulation of industrial facilities and various outreach and incentive programs designed to encourage clean air choices.

The Air District’s jurisdiction encompasses all of seven counties – Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Napa, and portions of two others – southwestern Solano and southern Sonoma.

Water Reclamation Supervisor

The City of Cedar Falls is seeking candidates to test for and fill the position of Water Reclamation Supervisor in accordance with Civil Service testing requirements. The position requires the ability to plan, coordinate and participate in all services and operations of the City’s sanitary and storm sewer collection systems and treatment processes, as well as coordinating activities with other divisions, outside agencies and the general public. The position requires the ability to provide highly responsible and complex staff assistance to the Water Reclamation Manager and serve in their absence.

Qualifications

This position requires an Associate degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in utility operations, chemistry, biology, environmental science, or related field and four years of increasingly responsible experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant, including one year of lead responsibility OR a Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of related experience, including one year of lead responsibility. Position also requires the possession of, or ability to obtain prior to certification of the Civil Service hiring list, a valid Grade III Wastewater Operators Certification from the State of Iowa, an appropriate, valid driver’s license, and good driving record to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
