The City of Englewood Utilities Department is looking for an Environmental Scientist to perform professional environmental services requiring the consistent exercise of independent judgment in the planning and implementation of projects pertaining to regulatory compliance, permitting, long-range planning, and plant operations.
The position will participate as a member of the Utility’s environmental compliance team and contribute to the support of program management and project managers on various special studies at the Allen Water Treatment Plant. As well as performing environmental studies, evaluating others’ work products, making recommendations, and implementing results.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, exhibit high standards, have excellent communication skills, and effectively prioritize tasks to assist the Regulatory Compliance Program. The individual will have preferred experience in compliance, dam safety, plant operations, and provide support to the Utilities Division.
You will have the opportunity to:
Review, assist and participate in the City of Englewood’s Dam Safety Program.
Coordinate with other City Departments and government agencies for improvements to serve the community.
Work with regulatory staff and collaborate with the Engineering and Operations Divisions of Utilities.

Qualifications/Benefits
Education: Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, watershed science, biology, environmental chemistry, civil engineering, natural resources, or related field.
Work Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience performing data analysis, scientific investigations, and regulatory research and analysis preferred. Knowledge of CDPHE and EPA regulations. Experience formulating and managing projects in an individual and group setting.
