Salary: The hiring salary for the Assistant Environmental Specialist is starting at $66,240 to $73,600. The full pay range for the Assistant Environmental Specialist is $56,616 to $90,585.

Job Summary:

The Environmental and Wastewater Manager will support the oversee the implementation of a sustainable environmental program for the facility. This role ensures compliance with environmental regulations, manages site audits, and drives continuous improvement in environmental performance. This role is also responsible for oversight of the Wastewater Pre-Treatment Plant including the WWPTP Operators, and all activities necessary to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
5+ years of progressive experience in environmental compliance, with at least 3 years in a corporate or multi-site support role.
Strong understanding of dairy or food manufacturing operations preferred.

This position is located in the Environmental Section of the Storm Water Quality Division in the Public Works Department within the City of Oklahoma City and reports directly to a supervisor. The Environmental Technician is responsible for ensuring the general compliance with applicable environmental codes, ordinances, and environmental protection standards. Knowledge of specific codes, ordinances and environmental protection programs may be required prior to assuming the duties and responsibilities of the position. Essential job functions include: driving to conduct frequent field inspections to assess environmental conditions; enforcing established environmental codes and regulations and providing effective remedies; responding to inquiries from citizens and complaints regarding environmental violations or concerns; responding to emergency reports of hazardous and/or non-hazardous spills or conditions; and conducting environmental screenings and samplings of ambient water and other potential environmental contaminants. The employee is also responsible for assisting with special activities or projects; attending meetings of environmental committees, agencies, and boards; generating routine reports; assisting with public awareness programs and special events; and maintaining laboratory supplies, equipment and materials used to sample and test water quality and conduct investigations. The work is primarily performed on an independent basis. The employee must exercise tact and diplomacy in communication with citizens, businesses, and various City personnel. The nature of the work performed may require the Environmental Technician to support decisions made in conjunction with the enforcement of established laws, rules, regulations, ordinances, and collect evidence relating to possible court testimony. Work assignments are received in both verbal and written form and are subject to review through inspection of records maintained, and through complaints registered by private citizens and businesses.

PSE’s Environmental Services team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Senior Environmental Scientist position!

Job Description

The Senior Environmental Scientist will represent the waste team on a larger Environmental Services project to implement software to support PSE’s environmental management system (EMS), starting with implementation of a waste compliance module. As part of this project, the Senior Environmental Scientist will lead an effort to scrutinize and improve PSE’s existing waste management processes and decide which to move from paper-based to digital.

The Senior Environmental Scientist will provide comprehensive oversight of PSE operations related to waste management, including the PSE’s Waste Management Facility in Kent. Job duties include developing standard operating procedures, documenting programmatic evaluations, securing regulatory approvals, providing training and conducting other administrative and regulatory duties in support of company programs and operations.

Minimum Qualifications

BS or Master’s Environmental Science, Biology, Hydrology, Engineering, Anthropology, Mathematics, or similar with 7 or more years of experience in the field (four years of appropriate additional experience may be considered in lieu of advanced degree).

Beloit College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor to teach full-time during the 2026-27 academic year, with the possibility of a second year appointment in 2027-28. The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. or A.B.D in botany, plant physiology, conservation biology, ecology, environmental biology, or related field, and will teach two integrated lecture and laboratory courses each semester. The courses will include an introductory botany course and intermediate courses in conservation, environmental biology, ecology, and/or another area of environmental biology. The courses will be inquiry-based, have integrated laboratory and field components, enroll biology majors and other students, and be limited to 24 students. All biology courses at Beloit stress scientific principles and experimental methods and engage students in the design, performance, analysis, and communication of results of research projects.

The Biological and Environmental Systems Science Directorate (BESSD) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) seeks applicants for the Division Director (DD) of the Environmental Sciences Division (ESD). Reporting to the BESSD Associate Laboratory Director (ALD), the DD is responsible for leading and stewarding the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) core Science and Technology (S&T) capabilities (i.e., Earth, Environmental, and Atmospheric Science; Advanced Computing, Scientific Visualization and Data Sciences; and Earth and Energy Systems Infrastructure Analysis and Engineering) in alignment with existing programmatic missions and emerging opportunities, and establishing and implementing strategic directions in concert with BESSD leadership.

ESD is an interdisciplinary research and development organization with 140 scientists and engineers, a $70M annual budget, and more than 70 years of achievements in local, national, and international environmental research. Our vision is to expand scientific knowledge and develop innovative strategies and technologies that will boost economic prosperity, ensure energy security, and strengthen the nation’s competitiveness while sustaining Earth’s natural resources. Our scientists conduct research, develop technology, and perform analyses to understand and assess responses of environmental systems at the environment-human-energy interface. ESD scientists examine environmental processes from the molecular to the global level in support of projects primarily sponsored by DOE’s Office of Biological and Environmental Research, Bioenergy Technologies Office, Water Power Technologies Office, and the Office of Environmental Management. The DD is responsible for providing scientific leadership for the Division’s research programs and for maintaining the quality of research. Description

Investigates environmental issues, researches solutions to complex environmental remediation strategies with the contributions of consultants, and enforces environmental laws and regulations for Metro facilities, initiatives, and capital projects. This includes the investigation and coordination for complex construction projects to ensure environmental regulatory compliance on LACMTA programs and projects. Engages with consultants and contractors on environmental issues for Metro programs and initiatives.

As a Dam Safety Engineer, you will safeguard public and environmental well-being by helping oversee dam safety programs, conduct inspections, and review dam designs and construction projects. The role requires strong attention to detail, commitment to compliance, and the ability to educate and work with dam owners and consultants. You will help ensure compliance with state regulations, support hazard assessments, and improve dam safety practices.

This is an entry-level position under close supervision with limited engineering experience. You will exercise limited judgment. Supervisors review all assignments for difficult or unusual conditions. You will apply advanced mathematics and engineering principles as an engineer in training. Work includes planning, design, construction, and related engineering activities. Areas include design, materials, hydraulics, planning, right-of-way, structures, traffic, transportation, field office, location, construction, natural resources, and environmental work. You must complete Engineer-in-Training or the Fundamentals of Engineering exam at hire or within the 12-month probation period.

Confer with consulting engineers, developers, and contractors, and respond to inquiries or complaints from the public pertaining to environmental engineering issues. Perform other work as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental engineering including coursework in hydraulics/hydrology and three years of increasingly responsible experience in civil/environmental engineering or closely related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. State certifications as Plan Reviewer for both Erosion and Sediment Control and Virginia Stormwater Management Program are required within 12 months of employment. Professional Engineer License or EIT desired. Strong verbal and written communication skills and experience in working with engineers, developers, contractors, and the public essential. Current valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out of state driving records must be obtained by the applicant and presented at time of interview. Record must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date.
