ICF is seeking a Clean Transportation Researcher responsible for planning and completing project tasks related to vehicle electrification, alternative fuels, emission reduction, transportation decarbonization, and advanced technologies in the transportation sector. Work may include research and writing related to the costs and benefits of advanced vehicle technologies and alternative transportation fuels, development of policy and program recommendations to support accelerated deployment of zero emission vehicles, research on industry trends, writing reports and developing presentations. Job Summary

Provides professional-level analytical and technical support on a variety of projects related to the University’s sustainability efforts. Fully analyzes issues and problems, gathers data and information, finds and evaluates alternatives, and makes sound recommendations.

Involves working with students, faculty, staff, and students to develop, coordinate, and promote effective sustainability initiatives related to the University’s academic, operational, and outreach functions. Summary

The Sustainability group is responsible for developing the sustainability strategy and plans for NYPA and the Canal Corp., managing performance and preparing annual reports. Sustainability Certification Manager

Under the general supervision of the FSC Certification Manager (FCM), the Sustainability Manager is responsible for ensuring that all JELD-WEN product sustainable certifications, testing and audits under their auspices are always current. This position works under the FCM and closely with the Product Line Managers, Product Engineers, Material Scientists, and various plant personnel communicating all current sustainability certifications, test standards and audits on their products. This position continuously develops strategies to achieve JELD-WEN organizational goals, R&D objectives, and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).

What You Will Do

Under the auspices of the FCM, prepares product documentation for product certification or listing to include collecting detailed drawings, bill of materials prior to testing and assists with supplier / JW site audits, as well as other product sustainability efforts.
Ensures that all JELD-WEN products comply with applicable sustainability certification requirements with a high degree of quality, accuracy, and thoroughness. These include Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), Material recycled content, Formaldehyde volume / CARB / TSCA, Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS), Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), Life Cycle Analyses (LCAs), Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) and others as identified by changing regulations or business requirements.
Ensures that all certification information, for all company products is available on the jeld-wen.com and R&D database for use by plant employees, sales, marketing, and customer service departments in a timely manner.
Provides technical support to all plants and customers with questions pertaining to sustainability certifications, and labeling related issues, and addresses them accordingly and promptly, and in a professional manner.
Trains production plants on JELD-WEN sustainability requirements.
Designs and generates creative solutions on their respective product line(s).
Completes their tasks on time or notifies the FCM on an alternate plan, and provides, as needed, periodic updates to the FCM and more senior level management in R&D as directed.
Manages projects until completion. Communicates accurately, effectively, and efficiently to all affected R&D personnel up and down the departmental hierarchy, to include cross-functional JELD-WEN business units and teams.

Clean Buildings Manager

Clean Wisconsin is a nonprofit organization with offices in Madison and Milwaukee and a mission to protect and preserve Wisconsin’s clean water, clean air and natural heritage. Accounting for 40% of all energy use in the United States, buildings represent an essential component of any comprehensive effort to reduce carbon emissions. Serve as Clean Wisconsin’s lead on a collaborative effort to build support for, adopt, and comply with strong building codes. Tasks will include building code education, stakeholder engagement and outreach, and providing technical support to municipalities on new and existing building policies.
Cultivate strategic relationships with key government officials, including officials at the Office of Energy Innovation, Department of Safety & Professional Services (DSPS), the Commercial Building Codes Council and the Uniform Dwelling Code Council, union leaders, building interest groups, government relations professionals and other stakeholders.

MISSION: For more than 50 years, the Conservancy of Southwest Florida has been a leading environmental advocacy organization dedicated to protecting Southwest Florida’s water, land, wildlife, and future.

Senior Clean Energy Program Manager

The Bureau of Planning and Sustainability (BPS) and the Portland Clean Energy Community Benefits Fund (PCEF) are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Clean Energy Program Manager with a strong commitment to climate justice to join the PCEF team. Being part of the PCEF team is a fast-paced, dynamic, and fluid endeavor. This position will lead the work of a growing clean energy team responsible for investing more than half of all PCEF funding (more than $470 million over five years) through multiple grants, contracts, and strategic initiatives.

As a Senior Clean Energy Program Manager, you will:

Build a clean energy team from a staff of three (3) to a team of eight (8). Provide guidance, support, and supervision to the clean energy team, fostering an inclusive and equitable work environment. Directly supervise four staff including two existing clean energy project managers.

Monitor and maintain compliance with all sustainability requirements in NPS concession contracts.
Ensure legal compliance with local, NPS, state, and federal environmental statutes and regulations and minimize legal liabilities from potential hazards.
Achieve and maintain certifications including ISO 14001, LEED O+M (Platinum), Parksmart, and Green Restaurant Association (4-star) for Xanterra’s buildings and operations. Assist others in the maintenance and improvement of ISO 9001 quality management certification.
Track all utility use through Xanterra’s Ecometrix platform, measure impact of programs, and prepare required reports.
Work with the General Managers, operating departments, and the corporate sustainability department to maintain and improve environmental management programs.
Support retail, food and beverage, and parking revenue-generating departments in reducing waste and increasing efficiency to increase profits.
Monitor and optimize the efficiency of buildings systems.
Effectively manage sustainability-related capital projects by delivering quality results on schedule and under budget.
Develop and implement appropriate training programs.
Serve as environmental spokesperson for Xanterra’s MORU and ROMO operations.
Promote Xanterra’s sustainable image through participation in local, regional, and/or national environmental groups; award applications; and media interviews.
Prepare and administer the annual financial plan and capital budgets for the sustainability department.
Oversee the continued implementation and improvements of the garden and greenhouse operation.
Perform manual labor including the collection and transportation of recycling and compost, especially in the winter.
Travel from MORU to ROMO/Estes Park, CO 3-5 times per summer for 2-6 days each time. Travel to one other Xanterra property annually to perform an internal EMS audit.

Qualifications

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in technical writing and public speaking. Must communicate effectively with superiors, field employees, the NPS, and the media.
Must be savvy as to proper business practices and present programs that are practical and financially sound. The Manager must genuinely enjoy people and be an effective team player, while also carefully introducing, promoting and driving change.
Familiarity with environmental laws and regulations as they relate to the hospitality industry, and an ability to keep abreast of this complex field.
Understand best practices in project management and have the organizational abilities to implement them in a fluid environment.
Must be organized and have strong administrative and leadership skills, including experience with operating budgets and the related accountability.
Proficiency in Microsoft Offices products including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience assessing cost effectiveness, cost savings, program effectiveness, and program compliance.
Ideally have experience reviewing and interpreting construction drawings and a basic understanding of building electrical and mechanical systems including HVAC and lighting.
Passion for national parks and public lands.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
At least one year of professional experience in all aspects of environmental management.
LEED AP O+M or the ability to earn within one year of hire date.
Experience in environmental report writing, preferably including EMS development and ISO 14001 certification.
Experience in developing sustainability initiatives and implementing all phases of a company-wide environmental program, preferably in a hospitality and/or cooperative government agency setting.

Physical Requirements:

Must possess physical stamina to withstand extensive standing, lifting, stooping, and bending involved in moving and transporting supplies, equipment, and waste weighing from 50 to 100 pounds.

Work Environment:

Most work will be completed at a desk in an office environment, but is expected to frequently engage with employees and guests in the restaurant, gift shop, and parking facility.
Will also be exposed to extreme hot and cold temperatures when working outdoors in the garden in the summer or hauling recycling in the winter.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Serve on the MORU and ROMO management teams assisting with the oversight of over a hundred seasonal employees. Directly supervise one to three seasonal employees, including a MORU Recycler/Gardener.

What is the role?

Michaels Energy is seeking an energy engineer with retro-commissioning experience and excellent communication skills to deliver technical support for utility energy efficiency programs in Minnesota. This position will perform energy studies for medium and large commercial and industrial buildings.

Technical tasks include building investigations to identify energy-saving measures, project costing, and calculating energy savings and ROI. Client and customer communication is critical in this role. Types of communication include meetings, presentations, and non-technical and technical writing. We are looking for an engineer who is passionate about energy efficiency and removing barriers for the customer that will result in the implementation of energy efficiency projects.

Data Collection

Develops data collection plans before customer visit
Gathers energy usage data while at customer site, which includes visual inspection, customer/operator interviews, building plans and documents, automation system trend data, photos, spot measurements and data logging
Verifies successful measure implementation upon project completion

Facility Mechanical and Automation System Analysis

Communicates with clients, end-users, vendors, and trade allies to gather information required for project completion
Documents the project findings, including baseline conditions, energy savings recommendations, and other important details related to the project
Analyzes data and develops appropriate engineering models to accurately model the equipment or system under study
Performs energy savings calculations using a pre-built template and occasionally, custom approaches
Prepares technical report that describes the mechanical systems under consideration, their operating characteristics, deficiencies, and proposed modifications in an easy-to-read format

Project Screening

Uses knowledge of energy consumption and systems to identify and quantify efficiency potential in buildings
Trains automation contractors on efficiency program process
