We are looking for someone to develop strategies, policies, plans, standards, and objectives to lead environmental compliance and sustainability efforts in alignment with company goals. Lead all aspects of operational activities associated with air, waste, and water regulatory programs and sustainability initiatives. Directly contacts regulators, senior management, and external peers to ensure that organizational programs are innovative, practical, and successful.
A typical day might include:

Responsible for compliance with federal, state, and local environmental laws, regulations, and standards.

Reviews industrial accident investigation reports and corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
May provide construction project support as a subject matter expert during each phase of the project – design, construction, and post-construction
Responsible for contract/SOW preparation of external consultants or consults as subject matter expert on contracts impacting our environmental and sustainability programs

Senior Sustainability Specialist

In this role you will:

Provide sustainability leadership on project pursuits led by California-based Principals in all market sectors (Arts & Community; Higher Education; Public|Corporate; Healthcare) including writing proposal responses, collaborating on pursuit strategy with principals, and interviewing.
Provide sustainability leadership on projects, including:
Leading visioning/goal setting workshops and sustainable design charrettes with project teams and clients
Advising PMs and Principals on staffing to best leverage in-house experts to achieve the project’s sustainability goals
Sustainability and certification project management, including completing certification credit forms and supporting documentation
Design team coordination to execute sustainability goals, including providing education and guidance to support discipline credit documentation
QA/QC review of construction drawings and credit documentation for compliance with Title 24, CALGreen, and certification requirements
Travel between HGA California offices will be expected at minimum a few days per month. Travel to other office locations, client sites, and conferences will be required periodically.

You will need to have:

Experience with integrating sustainability on projects. For example: sustainability certifications feasibility studies, passive and/or active design strategies for energy efficiency, building science, Net Zero or Carbon Neutral planning
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the following areas: Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Interior design, Engineering, Planning (urban/transportation/environmental planning, urban design), Building Operations (facility management, property management), or demonstrated competency through a combination of another degree not listed and years of experience with sustainable design
Sustainability credential(s) such as LEED AP, WELL AP, SITES, Passive House, LFA, or Fitwel Ambassador

Sustainability Project Manager

As a Sustainability Project manager, within UL’s Asset and Sustainability Performance division, you will be working on various green building, health and wellness certifications and sustainability projects. In this role you will:

Consult and manage based on experience and technical knowledge on multiple types of projects including commercial, governmental and residential buildings
Assist with ongoing and future sustainability projects from inception to close out, including feasibility assessments
Manage client relationships; reporting budgeting and time management; and in time provide internal training as the Team grows
Lead clients, external and internal team meetings

Coordinator, Sustainability Data

Summary: Develops systems and tracks monthly metrics and data on energy and resource use and reductions at all Missouri Botanical Garden campuses. Prepares Greenhouse Gas Inventories and tracking progress for green building certifications. Prepares reports and communications on results. Collaborates with Garden staff from multiple divisions and vendors to collect appropriate information on a regular basis. Works with division team to interpret results and identify steps to expand sustainability efforts in Garden buildings, grounds and programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Under the supervision of VP Sustainability and Manager, Built Environments, develops lists of all resource use and collections and other metrics to track on behalf of sustainability efforts on Garden sites.
• Using Excel or other databases, develops and manages multiple information tracking systems for this resource use, updates all data on a monthly basis, keeping all systems current throughout the year. Resource tracking includes all sustainability actions on campuses, utility bills, production of four solar arrays and ten electronic vehicle charging stations, recycling and food waste pounds diverted as well as electronics recycled and other products recycled, green certified buildings, locally sourced food/materials/products, and more
• Collects data from vendors and staff from multiple divisions using frequent telephone and email communications for collecting information, then inputs all into the tracking systems.
• Updates all data annually for greenhouse gas inventory, LEED certifications, ENERGY STAR certifications, City of St. Louis Building Energy Performance Standard, Green Dining Alliance certification, etc.
• Develop new systems to track components to include in next round of inventories and certifications such as carbon impacts of staff commuting and business travel.
• Researches and tracks carbon benefits of existing and potentially expanded plantings on all Garden locations.
• Participates with division team to interpret results and suggest steps to expand sustainability efforts in Garden buildings, grounds and programs

Director of Offshore Wind

Sustainability Coordinator

Overview

The primary responsibility of the Sustainability Coordinator is to assist the Sustainability / Environmental Compliance team with the execution and administration of the company’s organization-wide environmental, social, and governance (ESG) / sustainability program. Assist with ESG data collection and validation for use in ESG external reporting and internal decision-making
Track impact of the company’s ESG programs through data analysis
Assist with collection and evaluation of supplier ESG surveys and assessments (e.g., animal welfare, packaging, etc.)
Support regular communication with stores and engagement with stakeholders regarding sustainability and environmental compliance initiatives
Research and analyze sustainability opportunities and risks
Other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor or Graduate Degree is required. A degree in an environmentally related discipline, such as sustainability, environmental studies/sciences, engineering, business, or an appropriately related field is preferred.
Professional experience in the sustainability field is preferred, such as supporting or maintaining sustainability-based initiatives, processes, or programs.
Minimum contribution of 40 hours per week
Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities
Excellent Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and data analysis skills
Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
