Collective Impact Manager

This person will facilitate and support the efforts of the Genesee-FLX Climate Collective, a cross-sector group of community leaders, working to advance the Genesee-FLX 1 Climate Action Strategy. Specifically, the Collective Impact Manager will be responsible for supporting the Collective’s administration, facilitating committee meetings, developing and maintaining partner relationships, ensuring communication, incorporating community engagement opportunities, and furthering data collection and reporting efforts. Responsibilities

Maintain strategic vision, provide adaptive leadership, and uphold the Collective’s guiding principles, while fostering a community culture that reflects the same.
Provide support to the steering committee and working group co-chairs to facilitate meetings, create meeting agendas, disseminate notes and relevant information.
Maintain and build relationships between partners and external stakeholders, including identifying and recruiting additional cross-sector stakeholders to plug into the Collective where necessary.
Serve as a conduit of communication and collaboration among workgroup members, steering committee members, community stakeholders, and other key entities.
Provide support to partner organizations in aligning their work with the Climate Action Strategy (e.g., identifying opportunities for program work to support specific goals).
Identify opportunities for and coordinate community participation by soliciting, recording, analyzing, and incorporating community feedback into the Climate Collective’s strategies and activities.
Identify potential funding sources to support the Genesee-FLX Climate Collective’s goals and priorities.
Support the implementation of an accountability, measurement, and evaluation framework across the scope of the Collective.
Create regular reports and prepare relevant communications on the Collective’s progress for the steering committee and external audiences.
Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

The Collective Impact Manager must be detail-oriented, skilled in motivating and working with others, have strong interpersonal skills, and have the ability to build authentic relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders. A successful candidate for this position will be an effective communicator, self-starter, and collaborative team player. S/he/They will ideally have experience with complex project management and stakeholder management. Familiarity with collective impact theory and practice a plus, but not required. Demonstrated commitment to climate justice is highly valued. A means or form of transportation that allows travel throughout the nine-county region is a must (mileage reimbursement provided). Manager, Renewable Energy

The Manager Renewable Energy will support the Senior Manager Deregulated Utilities in developing and implementing the company’s renewable energy strategy. This role will will work closely with internal stakeholders and 7-Eleven’s Greenhouse Gas reporting vendor to successfully manage its sustainability program.

Successful delivery of all activities related to achieving company Scope 1 & 2 sustainability goals
Support design of energy procurement strategies that minimize cost, risk, and enable renewable integration
Analyze and prepare business case justification for investment in renewable strategies
Support contract negotiations with external partners in collaboration with internal Legal, Finance, Accounting, Treasury, and Tax teams
Work across all functional areas of the business to continually identify opportunities to reduce the business carbon footprint
Ensure strong communication and coordination with Sustainable Project Developers and Utilities, ensuring that Parties conform to all contractual requirements and other obligations

Qualifications

Education: Bachelors/4 year degree
Experience: 8-10 years, energy/finance analytics, project economic analysis
Strong technical knowledge of greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting, climate action planning, emissions reduction strategies, and climate and community resiliency practices.
Proven experience leading initiatives related to renewables or sustainability projects, power procurement, infrastructure development

Climate Action Program Coordinator

Works in Department of Planning, Development, and Sustainability to identify and implement strategies that advance Missoula County’s sustainability goals, including 100% clean electricity, carbon neutral county operations and climate change resiliency. Supports the County’s collaborative climate adaptation and mitigation work, including but not limited to Climate Ready Missoula and Building(s) for the Future.

Representative Examples of Work

Leads efforts to achieve carbon neutrality in County government operations, including an interim goal of 30% reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2025. Oversees climate change mitigation planning and implementation. Develops and updates GHG emissions inventories for facilities and operations. Supports County’s negotiations with energy providers (such as NorthWestern Energy) to advance the County’s adopted 100% clean electricity goal (in partnership with City of Missoula), including developing and tracking implementation plans. Works closely with consultants, local and statewide partners, and the City of Missoula to advance the clean electricity goal. Supports the County’s climate adaptation planning and implementation efforts, including the Climate Ready Missoula Plan, which identifies climate adaptation strategies across eight sectors: public health, business/recreation/tourism, agriculture, ecosystems, buildings and land use, water, energy, and emergency preparedness and response.Supports Building(s) for the Future initiative, a collaboration with Climate Smart Missoula and the City of Missoula to coordinate and implement projects, policies and programs related to residential and commercial building decarbonization, energy conservation, renewable energy, and related workforce development. Serves as a subject matter expert and technical resource on issues related to climate change and sustainability for Missoula County Board of County Commissioners, departments, and the public. Collects, analyzes and reports on local, state and federal policies and trends in furtherance of County’s climate action goals and initiatives and their equitable implementation. Identifies and pursues funding opportunities to support the implementation of climate action strategies. Conducts public education and outreach activities related to climate action goals, including maintaining and updating the program website, utilizing social media and traditional media, and organizing events. Actively engages with and incorporates the perspectives of diverse and underrepresented communities. Promotes resilient and environmentally sustainable communities by conducting community outreach and education concerning issues of sustainability, climate mitigation, and climate adaptation. Supports other goals and initiatives of the Missoula County Climate Action program such as electric vehicle charging infrastructure, low-carbon transportation, waste reduction, and related topics.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in environmental science/policy, planning, sustainable development, engineering or related fields. Requires three years of professional experience in energy policy, climate resilience, high performance buildings, sustainability, environmental science, or a closely related field.

Physical/Environmental Demands

The work is primarily performed in an office setting. May require travel to rural locations and walking properties with rough, uneven terrain. Work schedule may require attendance at meetings before and after normal work hours.

Sustainability and Energy Specialist

The Department of Defense (DoD) relies upon training and testing lands to maintain mission readiness. Training time and training land availability link directly to capabilities, but without careful management, training and testing infrastructure degrades and become of limited use for realistic training. In addition, DoD manages more than 300,000 buildings on some 500 installations throughout the United States. It is critical for DoD to reduce installation energy consumption and carbon footprint, improve energy security, and facilitate water conservation. The mission of the DoD Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program (SERDP) and the Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP) is to demonstrate innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable solutions to meet DoD’s environmental and installation energy challenges.

The early-career Sustainability and Energy Specialist will:

Become a trusted advisor to the DoD Program Manager, serving as the liaison between funded project teams and the DoD Program Office.
Perform program management, tracking action items, responding to questions from project teams, identifying and managing lagging projects.
Leverage data and develop visualization products to inform-management practices and technical presentations.
Monitor financial and technical progress of research and demonstration projects. Collaborate with project leads to increase consistency in performance and financial reporting.
Actively participate in technical progress and review meetings for funded research projects. Provide logistical and administrative support for the meetings, including developing agendas, presentations, project progress reports.

ESSIENTAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITYES:

Conservation & Sustainability Partnership Areas
Identify best practices across member farms and help to accelerate the adoption of best practices on member farms
Conduct Nutrient Management and Conservation Plans Implementation and Assessments
Expand conservation compliance program across MDVA – identify funding for all farms to improve environmental footprint.
Connect members to funding for implementation of conservation best management practice Farmers Assuring Responsible Management (FARM) Program Area
Conduct FARM Animal Care Evaluations, FARM Environmental Stewardship Assessments and FARM Workforce Development Assessments
Follow-up on any Mandatory Corrective Action Plans (MCAPs) or Continuous Improvement Plans (CIPs)– document follow-up visits and improvements in Salesforce and FARM Database
Develop FARM follow-up letters after the initial visits and evaluations
Assess risks that may be discovered on some operations and provide the opportunity for a proactive approach to develop a continuous improvement plan or path forward

Develop innovative programs that show the local brand to the end consumer

Must be able to set up a home office within our cooperative footprint, travel within assigned territory (VA, MD, PA), traveling to the corporate office in Herndon, VA as needed. Coordinator, Energy Services

FUNCTION: Daily monitoring of Building Automation Systems, coordinate response to comfort concerns, provide analysis and administration of all assigned Energy Management projects and functions.

Essential Job Functions:

Monitor the general operation of the Building Automation Systems to ensure proper operability and minimum energy consumption levels. Respond to occupant comfort concerns while ensuring compliance with campus climate guidelines.
Review all monthly utility billing for accuracy. Identify, investigate, and report on all anomalies in water, gas, and electricity consumption. Provide monthly and quarterly reports on energy metrics at the individual and building level with weather normalized comparison per square foot.
Manage ENERGY STAR and other Energy Benchmarking portfolios as assigned.
Assist the conduct or coordinate facility site visits, retro-commissioning efforts, and ASHRAE audits (Level I & II).
Maintain repair parts inventory list and order spare or replacement parts to agree service level. Work directly with the Director and procurement to create requisitions, purchase orders, and payment authorizations.

Additional Job Functions:

Provide team level support as required to support departmental operations. This may occasionally involve working extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays to ensure adequate functional coverage.

Director, Sustainability

The position is responsible for designing, implementing and executing technical and science-based strategy within the Sustainability Department. This position will interface with ACC members, solution providers, standards setters and science organizations on issues related to scientific methods for chemical evaluation and holistic sustainability assessments. The position will support analytics and studies advancing sustainable chemistry and environmental, safety and health (ESH) aspects of ACC member sustainability programs. The position will also support the preparation of materials for working and board level meetings and will help coordinate between Responsible Care® and industry sustainability initiatives. The position works closely with key internal staff and external stakeholders and reports directly to the Managing Director, Sustainability.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Serves as a technical expert on relevant value chain issues such as risk and hazard assessment, chemical exposure, lifecycle assessment, alternatives assessment, multi-attribute evaluation, product certifications, voluntary consensus standards and eco-labels, and climate-related standards, metrics, and frameworks.
Supports engagement with third parties and scientific bodies in both public and private sectors, and sector-specific trade associations related to scientific analysis issues to promote approaches consistent with ACC principles and advocacy objectives.
Supports direction and activities of staff, ACC member groups and internal teams as assigned.
Supports groups/teams of internal staff and member company representatives for purposes of soliciting input and building consensus relative to the development and implementation of scientific and technical strategies.
Coordinates other ACC departments (e.g., Plastics, Chemical Products & Technology, Responsible Care, and Regulatory & Scientific Affairs), as needed, to support technical activities that support Sustainability initiatives.
Participates in the design of ACC advocacy strategies on key technical issues.
Collaborates with and communicates to key stakeholders on behalf of the chemical industry, seeking strategic relationships, alliances, and partnerships.
Leads the development of positions, communications, marketing tools and materials to support ACC’s sustainability objectives related to science and technical issues.

Qualifications/Requirements

Sustainability Coordinator

General Purpose

Under direction of the Director of Public Works, this position will be responsible for building on and capitalizing on the Sustainability Strategic Plan update to cultivate a sustainability mindset in the organization, including establishing programs and processes both internal and external to support this mission. It is expected to have a high community engagement component as the City works to foster a sustainability culture for our residents particularly in the areas of food and solid waste reduction.

Typical Duties (Illustrative Only)

Create waste diversion programs and educational outreach for residents
Collaborate with Business Districts to identify areas where solid waste can be diverted from the landfill
Develop a culture of thoughtful consumption and strong waste diversion policies for City staff and facilities
Understand and strengthen code pertaining to waste diversion and reduction
Communicate with the Sustainability Commission to identify Forever Webster Groves (sustainability plan) targets and plans
Analyze complex issues; presents findings and recommendations
Manage project and program timelines; monitor information; prepare reports on progress
Support inclusion of sustainability, waste reduction, and climate resilience in the City’s Strategic Plan, Comprehensive Plans and other City, local and regional climate plans
Act as City point of contact for participation and collaboration with regional organizations
Study and make recommendations for programmatic improvements and revisions
Provide outreach to internal/external stakeholders on waste diversion and sustainability programs
Identify grant funding opportunities for sustainability initiatives and completes applications
Work with the department director to determine budget requests for waste diversion and sustainability programming
Work with applicable departments and commissions to create a culture of sustainable waste diversion
