Federal Policy Project Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Summary
The Renewable Operations Center Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations at the Ocotillo STAR Center in Tempe, Arizona. Manages activities for a diverse portfolio of renewable generating facilities (including Solar, Energy Storage and Micro-grid installations) within a 24/7 control center. Works in a high stress environment where decisions directly impact personnel safety and equipment reliability. Coordinates emergency responses with other business units and external agencies. Ensures activities are properly coordinated for optimum reliability, availability, safety, efficiency and effectiveness. Establishes priorities for team and project completion. Communicates company policy information and requirements to ensure operational decisions are in compliance.
Minimum Requirements
A four-year Bachelors degree in an applicable technology area such as electric power, electronics, mechanics or hydraulics from an accredited college or university plus four (4) years demonstrated experience in operations, maintenance and/or other job related experience. In lieu of bachelors degree, combination of college coursework and/or experience in solar and/or generation plant maintenance, construction and/or operations equaling eight (8) years. Major Accountabilities

Austin Energy provides energy efficiency and demand response incentives and technical assistance for commercial customers and multifamily properties. Our team is responsible for the allocation of over $5 million/yr in incentives that support HVAC, lighting, and other building upgrades that improve energy efficiency and demand response.
This position is in Austin, TX and will require in-person coordination with local stakeholders and businesses. Majority telework schedules are currently allowed, but this position will require an in-office presence and customer site visits. Field work may require the use of ladders and other tools/equipment.
