Energy Analyst

Job Responsibilities

The Energy Policy Analyst will work to implement internal and external plans to accomplish program and organizational goals.

Responsibilities will include:

Support the updates to and potential expansion of SACE’s internal database, SENFO. This database uses electricity sector data to track and report out on progress on decarbonization of electricity across the region.
Support SACE’s Utility Reform staff as they prepare reports, white papers, and articles
Analyze data and provide insights to SACE staff and external partners
Support public education through the communications team, including drafting blogs and articles and assisting with public webinars.
Support SACE’s work in the cross-section of the gas and electricity sectors in the region, including analysis of potential pipeline projects that could drive new gas power generation projects.
Review and synthesize regulatory and other legal documents.
Additional work to support SACE’s mission to improve energy affordability through the reduction of reliance on fossil fuels across the Southeast.

Preferred experience includes:

Energy Sector knowledge is helpful. This includes work experience in renewable energy, utility regulation, energy efficiency, electric utility work, gas utility work, or grid management.

Minimum Requirements

BS/BA in environmental science, engineering, applied science, or related fields and six years of progressively more responsible environmental related work experience including, but not limited to environmental regulations, remedial procedures, audit procedures, and power generation processes.
Demonstrated skills in technical writing, verbal communication, and negotiations. (Note: An Associate college degree in areas of environmental or applied science and three years of progressive responsibilities in related work experience may be substituted for the education requirement. The following additional advanced education in the field can be substituted for related work experience: MS/MA/MBA = 2 years; PhD/J.D. = 3 years.)

Additional Information

Provide environmental support for construction and operation of wind, solar and battery storage energy projects, including but not limited to:

Develop and administer environmental programs to maintain compliance with environmental permits (e.g. eagle and threatened and endangered species incidental take permits, migratory bird special purpose – utility permits, state public utility commission site permits and vegetation management plans).
Direct and oversee compliance activities and serve as the primary environmental authority on environmental related issues (e.g. BGEPA, MBTA and T&E species, construction stormwater, CWA Section 404 and WCA).
Coordinate and manage contracted services for wildlife, noise and archeological related surveys and monitoring (e.g. T&E species surveys, raptor nest surveys and monitoring, point-count and eagle use surveys, noise monitoring complaint response and archeological surveys).
Compile and submit environmental related reports to federal, state and local agencies.
Develop and provide environmental related training for operations level staff.
Provide on-site support and respond to environmental incidents, such as spills, wildlife incidents and noise or shadow flicker complaints.
Serve as the primary point of contact for state and federal environmental agencies and tribal entities and support environmental audits.
Participate and engage with renewable industry groups such as Energy and Wildlife Action Coalition (EWAC), American Clean Power (ACP) and Renewable Energy Wildlife Institute (REWI).

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $82,800.00 to $117,600.00 per year

Environmental & Energy Associate

As an Environmental & Energy Associate, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance of the environmental and energy program through monitoring, measuring, analyzing, reporting and management of permits. You will partner with internal and external sustainability experts to identify improvement opportunities. To attain this sustainability strategy, you will champion measures to reduce waste and minimize environmental impact while increasing efficiency. You will identify, develop, justify and oversee improvement projects to ensure environmental compliance and align with company goals.

Maintain ISO 14001 certification and continuously improve the environmental management system for the factory
Complete timely permit renewals or changes for air, water, wastewater, stormwater, and any other environmental regulatory requirements
Complete timely external compliance reporting for air, water, wastewater, stormwater, and any other environmental regulatory requirements
Complete timely internal compliance reporting for Energy, Environmental and Sustainability requirements
Review and process monthly invoices for energy, water and waste
Administer waste disposal contracts (waste slurry, sludge, solid waste, hazardous waste, recyclables, etc.) and maintain relationships with service providers

Senior Renewable Energy Project Permitting Biologist

DNV’s Environmental and Permitting Services (EPS) team is growing rapidly, and we are seeking a Senior Renewable Energy Project Permitting Biologist to help us provide comprehensive biological and permitting services in North America. You will be responsible for supporting project development, permitting, and owner’s engineering activities for onshore wind, offshore wind, solar, energy storage and hydrogen projects, including support for the preparation of local, state, and federal renewable energy permit applications and management plans, Bird and Bat Conservation Strategies, Habitat Conservation Plans, Eagle Conservation Plans and associated environmental impact studies. You will also be engaged in providing inputs to early phase siting and site characterization studies, assisting with field surveys, assisting with project due diligence activities and mentoring team members.

This role is based at our DNV office in San Diego (CA), Austin (TX), Houston (TX), Oakland (CA), Portland (OR), Seattle (WA), Medford (MA), Oak Brook (IL), Chalfont (PA), Dallas (TX) or New York (NY), presenting a dynamic hybrid schedule where employees will typically spend three (3) days per week working from either a DNV office or client location/site. What You’ll Do

Support renewable energy project site selection and characterization studies in North America and globally

What is Required

Engineering Specialist (Energy & Sustainability)

The Judicial Council of California is accepting applications for the Engineering Specialist position in the Facilities Services office.

Under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor for Sustainability, the Engineering Specialist (Energy & Sustainability) will be responsible for analyzing and validating utility data, including electricity, natural gas, water, waste, and fuels. The role supports sustainability-focused decision-making by identifying usage trends, verifying billing accuracy, and flagging inefficiencies. A significant focus is on maintaining high-quality data in platforms such as Energy Star Portfolio Manager and Energy Information Management System to support energy reduction and decarbonization goals.

The Engineering Specialist supports monthly and annual reporting on energy and water use, costs, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, as well as regulatory compliance reporting, including AB 802 benchmarking and GHG inventory submissions. Trend analysis to identify peak demand and/or inefficiencies is a key aspect of this work.

This position also involves conducting or supporting energy audits, lifecycle cost analysis, and technical reviews of mechanical/electrical systems in support of energy efficiency upgrades and capital project planning. The Engineering Specialist helps identify and track utility incentives and rebates, recommends energy-efficient equipment, and contributes to the development of energy policy. They also provide energy-related training for field and court staff.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a directly related field that would provide the knowledge and skills necessary for technical facility and construction engineering. An additional four (4) years of professional experience as noted above may substitute for the bachelor’s degree. Or, additional directly related experience and/or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Who You Are

Under the direction of the Director of Maintenance & Operations, the Sustainability Program Manager leads and manages the District’s sustainability efforts. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing programs that advance environmental stewardship, resource conservation, and operational efficiency across all District facilities and departments.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following or a related field: Environmental Science, Business Administration, Public Administration;
• At least two years’ experience in a sustainability field required;
• Must be able to work independently during irregular hours including evenings and weekends.

Program Manager – Energy Efficiency

ICF is seeking a dedicated and experienced Program Manager to join our Southern California Equitable Building Decarbonization team. This role requires regular travel across Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside, Imperial, and San Diego Counties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with community-based organizations and a deep understanding of the needs of residential customers undergoing significant home upgrades related to electrification or energy efficiency.
As a pivotal member of our team, the Program Manager will oversee the deployment of thousands of residential electrification programs across Southern California. This role involves meeting with local communities, community-based organization partners, contractors and vendors, as well as homeowners and property managers, to drive the adoption of affordable decarbonization solutions for low-income customers. The successful candidate must be an expert program manager with excellent consulting skills, stakeholder management, and facilitation skills. Additionally, they must have a deep understanding of the policy priorities driving the need to decarbonize the residential sector and the barriers that need to be overcome.

What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Environmental Science, Energy, Engineering or related subject (or applicants can substitute one year of related experience for one year of education)
8+ years experience in program management, particularly in the fields of energy efficiency, electrification, decarbonization and/or related
