This position offers a unique opportunity to engage with business units and leaders across FirstEnergy, contributing to strategic and forward-thinking initiatives that shape the company’s environmental, social, governance, and climate related narrative. The Corporate Responsibility (CR) team plays a vital role in aligning FirstEnergy’s actions and communications with stakeholder expectations and industry best practices.

The selected individual will lead efforts to develop and enhance FirstEnergy’s CR Report and related disclosures, ensuring transparency, consistency, accuracy and strategic alignment across the organization. This role reports to the Manager, Corporate Responsibility.

This position will report into the Akron, OH Headquarters.

Responsibilities include:

Lead the development and publication of the annual CR Report, including project planning, stakeholder engagement, strategic content development, and publication.
Lead the company’s third-party ESG ratings response efforts for various rating organization and framework reporting efforts – CDP, MSCI, Sustainalytics, GRESB, EEI, GRI, SASB, and IISB. This includes data coordination, process development, analysis, data validation, and data analytics.
Conduct gap analyses of FirstEnergy’s disclosures and initiatives and make suggestions to team leadership on opportunities to work with business units to close gaps. As appropriate, lead cross-functional teams to close selected gaps.
Strong project management skills with the ability to lead complex initiatives from concept to completion.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience crafting clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences

Sustainability Science Researcher

Overview:

The successful applicant will provide research expertise and leadership in designing and conducting complex interdisciplinary research proposals and projects on sustainability topics; works collaboratively with Ohio State faculty, researchers, and external partners and is recognized as a research expert in energy-land use systems modeling, coupled human-natural systems, and integrated assessment. In addition, contributes to sustainability research strategy at Ohio State through developing data management systems to track research impacts, perform advanced data analytics, and identify new opportunities for interdisciplinary research and teaming. The successful applicant will work on multiple large, complex projects at a time with significant project responsibilities, interfacing with a cross-section of faculty, staff, and research leaders from multiple disciplines and colleges across the university and with external collaborators from academic and non-academic sectors.

Planner II – Energy Programs

The State Energy Office (SEO) is located within DNREC’s Division of Climate, Coastal and Energy. The State Energy Office supports energy efficiency and conservation programs that help reduce energy use and its impact on the state’s environment and public health. It supports the use of renewable energy by homeowners, businesses and nonprofits through grant funding, incentives and technical guidance.

This job posting is for two Casual-Seasonal Planner IIs to work in the Energy Programs section of Delaware’s State Energy Office. One position will primarily staff the Green Energy Fund and work on renewable energy projects. The second position will primarily staff the Energy Efficiency Investment Fund and work on energy efficiency projects. Both positions will be responsible for supporting programs and initiatives that promote energy efficiency and clean energy throughout Delaware to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate the effects of climate change, particularly for disadvantaged communities. Sustainability Engineer II

This Sustainability Engineer reports directly to the site Facility Manager and has dotted line relationships with the Senior Director of Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) Programming (Data and Reporting), VP of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Corporate Director Operational Sustainability & Projects, and other departments as needed. The person in this role will be responsible for supporting the site leadership team in finalizing ESG / Sustainability Framework and then executing on it to show progress on sustainability KPIs, ultimately driving toward environmental goals and social responsibilities commitments. The focus will be on instilling a culture of sustainability in the organization in collaboration with and support from muti-disciplinary and department teams including operations, supply chain, human resources & legal. The position will also aid in internal and external communications with stakeholders, while developing and advancing corporate social responsibilities and employees’ engagement and awareness programs. The Sustainability Engineer may be called upon to lead interactions and communications with community interest groups, contractors, and consultants, at the direction of the Sustainability / ESG leadership.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• BS in Environmental and Social Sustainability (ESS), Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field from an accredited university is required.
• Advanced Degree is preferred.

ESSENTIAL WORK EXPERIENCES
• Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting Sustainable Development efforts, with particular focus on Operational Sustainability or Strategic CSR (preferably in a manufacturing setting).

Sustainability Analyst

The Sustainability Analyst will play a pivotal role in advancing Signature Aviation’s environmental goals by ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of sustainability data management. Partnering closely with the Director of Sustainability and Environmental Programs, this role will lead the collection, analysis, and reporting of key environmental metrics, including greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, energy consumption, and renewable energy usage. The analyst will enhance data workflows, deliver actionable insights that inform decarbonization strategies, and support enterprise-wide initiatives that strengthen Signature’s sustainability impact.
Responsibilities

Serve as a central liaison with internal stakeholders, including regional bases, FSC teams, and leadership, to collect, validate, and maintain sustainability data, ensuring accuracy for annual reporting.
Consolidate and manage data for global sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRESB, CDP) and Signature’s Annual Report.
Build business cases for sustainability projects by conducting data analysis aligned with environmental targets and financial requirements.
Track project costs and support the calculation, reconciliation, and verification of energy and emissions data.
Assist in securing funding by preparing and submitting applications for state and federal sustainability grants.
Monitor internal sustainability programs, compliance requirements, and regulatory trends; recommend enhancements where needed.
Support sustainability due diligence during acquisitions by assessing environmental baselines and integration considerations.
Research renewable energy market trends and contribute to procurement strategies that advance clean energy goals and optimize costs.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

Five years of relevant experience in sustainability, data management, or environmental program analysis; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Sustainability Coordinator

The Central Park Conservancy, a private, not-for-profit organization, was founded in 1980 to rescue the Park, which had fallen into serious disrepair. Job Summary

The Central Park Conservancy seeks a motivated individual with a background in environmental analysis and sustainability operations to support CPC’s first Environmental Sustainability Framework and related climate resiliency initiatives. Working with their manager and across departments, the Sustainability Coordinator will participate in the implementation of high-impact sustainability projects, monitor and report on progress of initiatives, formulate work plans, and perform and collaborate on research to advance the Environmental Sustainability Framework.

Energy Resources Program Manager

An Energy Resources Program Manager is responsible for providing management oversight and direction to professional staff regarding: (1) the coordination and administration of energy resources’ (electric and/or natural gas) plans, the forecasting and acquisition of energy resources, and the negotiation of energy resource contracts; (2) the coordination and administration of the utility business development area activities including new business opportunities and customer relations; and (3) the coordination and administration of the natural gas utility and electric utility distribution system planning area activities including the development of periodic operational plans. The incumbent also maintains an active liaison with all organizations having energy resource related interests and provides advice to the Energy Resources Department and City management regarding energy resource policy matters. The incumbent provides management oversight and direction regarding the analysis of data, preparation of reports and plans, and the maintenance of energy management records in support of these functions; and oversees the provision of data, analysis, and support for utility management initiatives such as costs of service and rate design studies, budget preparation, and strategic planning. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, providing management oversight and direction on: researching, preparing, and implementing policy recommendations relating to energy resources issues as directed by upper management level staff; maintaining awareness of legislative and regulatory initiatives that may have significant impacts on Mesa’s energy resources; playing a lead role in negotiating energy resource related agreements and contracts with outside parties; and advocating on behalf of the City’s interests as directed at meetings with energy resources agencies. The Energy Resources Program Manager supervises professional, clerical, and/or paraprofessional staff. The incumbent is responsible for the performance of related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications Required. Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business, Economics, Finance, Environmental, Law, or related field. Seven or more years of experience in and knowledge of energy resource management, including responsibility and experience in more than one of the following areas: resource/generation dispatch, energy marketing, budgeting, transmission system planning and operations, natural gas interstate pipelines, resource planning, and procurement and acquisition of energy resources, including negotiation of energy resources contracts.

Preferred/Desirable Qualifications. Graduation from an accredited college or university with Master’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental, Economics, Finance, Business, Law, or a related field.

Regulatory Director, West

Vote Solar seeks a candidate committed to help advance sustainable, equitable solutions to the challenges facing solar and distributed energy resources expansion as the region moves toward a 100% carbon-free electricity system. The Regulatory Director – West position will be primarily focused on California and require both strategic thought leadership in advocating for technical solutions before state regulatory bodies, and collaborative coalition building and management in getting those solutions implemented. Reporting to the Deputy Program Director for the West, this person will work closely with the Vote Solar’s West Regional Team, including communications and grassroots organizing experts to advance concrete goals in regulatory and legislative venues.
