Energy Manager

The Energy Manager’s primary responsibility will be on energy management and energy reduction for all stores and home office facilities. The position requires an experienced professional whose background and experience will enable them to develop and grow programs for measuring, supporting, and implementing opportunities to improve energy efficiencies. The Energy Manager will communicate and present energy sustainability goals to a varied audience from stores to senior management.

An employee in this position can expect a rate between $100,000 and $115,000 annually, depending on experience, seniority, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law.

This position is a hybrid role working out of our NYC, NY office, which is located in Union Square.

What You Do
• Position will identify, define, and execute energy savings initiatives, projects and develop best practices. This will include a review of a site-by-site analysis of energy usage and development of specific energy reduction strategy.
• Have three to five years of minimum experience in managing and developing analysis and metrics to guide facilities to issues and remedies for best practice in energy efficiency.
• Have the technical background necessary to manage the existing energy savings programs from EMS settings, on-demand execution, Swarm Logic AC, and heat programs, etc.
• Develop, produce, and interpret usage information to determine which stores are using more energy per square foot and store type and provide cost savings opportunities.
• Monitor utility billing to ensure accurate and timely payments are authorized and applicable credits are applied for on-demand rebates. Ensure rebates are pursued and received for energy-saving cap ex programs initiated by facilities and real estate.
• Develop cost analysis spreadsheets with a pricing matrix for each electrical and gas supplier in regulated markets, assuring that all locations are on the most economical cost structure.
• Have sufficient related experience of managing through the third-party energy consultant the electric or natural gas supplier contracts in deregulated markets.
• Complete the setup of new store and closing locations utility changes.
• Must have experience leading a team, setting team direction, and advocating for the team to internal and external stakeholders.

Knowledge & Experience
• Ideally, 5-7 years’ related experience with a bachelor’s degree or advanced education.
• Formal energy management qualifications such as CEM, CMVP, etc. would be advantageous.
• Multi-unit energy management experience in the retail industry.
• Have a proven background in energy management and have familiarity with ESG, sustainable efforts, and goals, etc.

Work with internal and external stakeholders as required for reporting and compliance related to environmental impact (Scope 1, Scope 2, water, waste, and recycling) at Alkegen manufacturing sites
Work with sustainability consultant to identify opportunities for global emissions reductions and cost-effective renewable energy opportunities aligned with business strategy
Engage with internal stakeholders and manufacturing sites to compile information needed to support completion of Life Cycle Analysis
Prepare reporting packages for monthly business unit and leadership meetings, as well as quarterly Board meetings

Compliance and Risk Management:

Support compliance with all relevant ESG regulations and standards
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of ESG activities and reports
Prepare process documentation for audits and reviews as required
Prepare and file response to ESG and Sustainability surveys, including engagement with internal stakeholders, customers, and reporting agencies

Energy Conservation Project Engineer

Our client is seeking to hire an innovative Energy Conservation Project Engineer to serve as the primary technical resource to the Business Development and Project Delivery teams. The Energy Conservation Project Engineer will be responsible for identifying and understanding the mechanical, electrical, utility and energy related equipment and systems within a prospective customer’s facility. In this role, the primary focus will be on conducting quick site audits and developing preliminary software-based building energy models to deliver early-stage go/no-go evaluations. These assessments are critical for prioritizing opportunities, guiding investment decisions, and streamlining project development before advancing into more detailed audits or studies. The selected candidate will develop comprehensive and cost-effective technical solutions to increase the operational efficiency of the facility by providing ongoing technical consultation and designing Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) to facilitate the sales/business development process, ensure smooth installations and achieve identified energy savings for the customer. This candidate should have a strong “airside” background and be interested in data analysis with a focus on HVAC.

Environmental and Sustainability Coordinator

The Environmental and Sustainability Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing multi-disciplinary environmental health and life safety (HLS) and energy related projects across the district. This role ensures regulatory compliance, oversees environmental testing, hazard management, and the district’s Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program. Follow Board policies and industry best practices while promoting safe and energy-efficient learning environments. Function with minimal supervision and administrative independence.

Job Duties / Responsibilities

Develop and maintain effective communication channels with outside groups, governmental agencies, district administrators, and staff. Serve as the district’s primary representative in communications with regulatory agencies.
Review and interpret newly issued regulations to ensure ongoing compliance with environmental and safety requirements.
Ensure full implementation of the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program with compliance verified through scheduled inspections, documentation, and regulatory audits.

Assist in the procurement of services and products through the bid process and Board approval.

Sustainability Strategist

Description

Performs difficult skilled administrative work leading and coordinating the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive city-wide initiative to advance sustainability and resilience Focus areas include—but are not limited to—food access, energy, climate resilience, natural resources, and community well-being. Serves as liaison between the City and community stakeholders, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Director of Sustainability.

Project Management and Policy Support:

Assist with planning and implementation of the City’s strategic initiatives in sustainability and resilience, in collaboration with multiple City departments.

As a Director Environmental and Sustainability Programs you will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of Organon’s comprehensive environmental programs. Boston Energy Saver Manager

The Boston Energy Saver Manager will lead the implementation of the Boston Energy Saver, an innovative new program designed to help Bostonians lower their energy bills and fossil fuel use by connecting them with clean energy programs and resources. This position will develop, implement, and support projects, policies, and programs that reduce carbon emissions, increase energy efficiency and renewable energy, and provide support for building owners, residents, and small businesses. The Manager will engage with Boston residents, building owners, and other stakeholders to provide building decarbonization support and to connect them with resources. The Boston Energy Saver Manager will report to the Building Decarbonization Program Manager in the Environment Department and will work closely with other members of the Carbon Neutrality Team.

Mayor Wu’s administration is committed to a Green New Deal for Boston by reducing planet-warming pollution while creating economic opportunities for everyone, especially those from environmental justice communities who often suffer the worst impacts of climate change. In her 2025 State of the City address, Mayor Wu announced the launch of the Boston Energy Saver, a partnership with Eversource, National Grid, and non-profit partners that will help Boston residents and small businesses access Mass Save® financial incentives and credits to upgrade their homes and energy systems and lower energy costs. Through the program, the City will help renters, homeowners, and business owners decide on the best investments to make in their homes and access the financial support available to pay for them, reducing their energy bills and improving building performance.

The Carbon Neutrality team in the Environment Department works to implement building decarbonization policies and programs, including the Boston Energy Saver, the Building Emissions Reduction and Disclosure Ordinance (BERDO 2.0), which sets carbon targets for medium- and large-sized buildings across Boston to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, and the Retrofit Resource Hub, which provides technical and financial resources to building owners and tenants.

Manage sustainability data collection and analytics on multiple topics, including carbon emissions reduction, packaging, and deforestation; program and project management; and ESG reporting and disclosure. Responsibilities

– Manage efforts to fulfill Kroger’s ESG Strategy: Thriving Together and Zero Hunger
– Zero Waste environmental and social impact plan to advance positive impacts for people and our planet
– Continually improve sustainability performance across the company by working with lines of business and corporate functions
– Partner with stakeholders to continually improve data accuracy and integrity; gather and synthesize data to inform program management and decision-making; and develop recommendations for improving performance and positive impact
– Demonstrate familiarity with current sustainability reporting frameworks and emerging disclosure trends to support ESG reporting
– Research and monitor changes to relevant environmental policy and legislation to inform topic roadmaps
– Lead program and project management with cross-functional teams on topics such as packaging, climate, and waste
– Collaborate with retail division leaders on local and regional sustainability topics as needed
– Provide project and program support to increase associate and customer engagement to improve sustainability and social impact

Qualifications

Minimum
– Bachelor’s Degree relevant field
– 3+ years of experience in sustainability (public or private)
– Demonstrated skills in data management, analytics, and project management
– Strong attention to detail
– Proficient Microsoft Office skills, including Excel
– Excellent oral, written and listening communication skills
– Ability to handle sensitive information while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality
– Ability to plan/prioritize a variety of tasks and adapt efficiently to changing priorities

Desired
– Master’s Degree relevant field
– Any experience in climate change, packaging and plastics, or responsible sourcing
– 5+ years of experience in sustainability
– Sustainable finance or business background
