Reporting to the Chief Sustainability & Social Impact Officer, the Sustainability Program Manager is a key member of the Sustainability & Social Impact team whose work is guided by the company’s Hop Forward ambitions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and resource consumption, maintain and expand zero waste commitments and deliver projects and results that have a positive environmental impact. This role also supports adjacent Hop Forward commitments in support of employee and community engagement. The Sustainability Program Manager leads the strategic development, implementation and ongoing success of programs and projects in our manufacturing facilities, restaurants and across our value chain. This role is responsible for ensuring cross-functional alignment and coordination in pursuit of sustainability objectives and collaborates closely with Program Manager counterpart and functional leaders. This role requires a high level of decision-making, professionalism and subject-matter knowledge. This role also fulfills external, public-facing responsibilities within the local/regional community and with advocacy partners. Responsibilities also include key performance metrics tracking, reporting and auditing to achieve both short and long term Hop Forward objectives.

What You Will Do

Research, develop, lead and implement strategic programs and projects related to energy, water, zero waste, transportation, supply chain, climate change and greenhouse gas emissions
Completion and maintenance of the company’s greenhouse gas inventory for scopes 1, 2 and 3
Monthly/annual tracking and goal setting for energy, water and waste KPI metrics as well as vendor/contract management
Research, apply for, and manage grants and other funding mechanisms through local, state, or federal programs that support company initiatives to reduce GHG emissions and other environmental impact goals
Annually deliver impact report with environmental and social impact team
Educate and train internal teams and external partners on sustainable practices and the company’s Hop Forward strategy
Accountable for site-specific budget and making purchasing decisions as appropriate
Identify, implement, and maintain appropriate facility certifications (e.g. TRUE zero waste, LEED, Bicycle Friendly Business, etc.)
Develop and maintain community partnerships with local environmental/sustainability groups as well as other businesses through speaking engagements, onsite community-facing events, and VIP tours
Support broader corporate responsibility initiatives as needed

Responsibilities

PepsiCo’s Sustainable Agriculture team is dedicated to creating a resilient and sustainable agricultural system that is vital for the company’s business continuity, environmental stewardship, and food systems change. The Sustainable Agriculture Partnerships Associate Manager role is responsible for:

Conducting research on potential partners in key markets, globally.

Job Summary
The Sustainability Engineer works closely across the organization to develop initiatives that meet the sustainability goals of the community, customers, and the organization. This role will partner with all manufacturing locations to implement sustainability programs and strategies, track progress and report status to leadership. They will use Anchor and glass industry sustainability achievements to market glass as sustainable and environmentally responsible packaging. MAIN POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manager, Climate Resilience

The Manager Climate Resilience is a key member of the Global Sustainability Team within the Legal Department. This role involves leading the climate resilience strategy for agricultural ingredients, plus designing and driving a decarbonization strategy based on climate risk, scientific best practices, and business priorities. This senior manager will also inform Hershey’s broader climate transition, focusing on creating positive impacts and addressing environmental risks, especially within the ingredients portfolio.

The Manager Climate Resilience will determine the environmental risks and opportunities arising from climate change predominately in agricultural ingredients, including how this may impact Hershey’s business now and into the future. They will co-create climate risk mitigation and adaptation strategies with key business units and explore external partnership and collaboration opportunities to promote business resilience.

This role will oversee the implementation of the climate resilience strategy for agricultural ingredients including progress measurement and business case development. The Senior Manager Climate Resilience will demonstrate business first thinking and drive efforts to improve organizational capability. Working with the Head of Environmental Sustainability they will also drive cross-enterprise collaboration, for business processes that enable a smoother climate transition such as (but not limited to) carbon pricing strategies, carbon credits, procurement strategies and supplier engagement.

Role Responsibilities:

Develop and lead the climate resilience and decarbonization strategy for agricultural ingredients.
Identify, measure and interpret climate related risks primarily in agricultural ingredients.
Collaborate with key business units (sourcing, R&D, etc.) to develop mitigation and adaptation strategies. This may include challenging conventional ways of working with supply chains and procurement strategies to achieve a fresh approach to achieving business resiliency.
Supervise the execution and implementation of the ingredient climate resilience strategy, including tracking progress and measuring ROI.
Steward 2030 ingredient-specific carbon abatement roadmaps. Refresh as needed with business changes or technological advancements. Monitor the impact of decarbonization investments and assess ROI-driven decisions for decarbonization that clearly support enhancements in business resiliency.
Develop long term decarbonization goals (beyond 2030).
Integrate nature, water, or biodiversity considerations where relevant.
Support broader ESG reporting requirements on climate performance as required
Create an enabling environment for decarbonization.
Work with the responsible sourcing team to define a supplier engagement strategy for prioritized ingredients, and options for program expansion.
Proactively seek out external partnership and collaboration opportunities that drive impactful decarbonization.
Collaborate with business partners across Procurement, Finance and R&D to identify and execute carbon mitigation enabling actions such as carbon pricing strategies, carbon credits, and other procurement strategies.

Job Description

DOER is seeking a Green Communities Grants Coordinator to coordinate various aspects of the Green Communities Division’s grant programs, including grant administration and contract management. The Grants Coordinator reports to the Deputy Director of Green Communities and provides guidance, support, and analysis on issues related to their position. The Green Communities Grants Coordinator will coordinate the Municipal Energy Technical Assistance (META), Regional Energy Planning Assistance (REPA), technical and planning assistance and implementation grants related to the Climate Leaders Communities program, and the coordination of future grants and/or programs as directed by the Director and Deputy Director.

The Green Communities Division provides grants, technical assistance, and local support to help municipalities reduce energy use and costs by implementing clean energy projects in municipal buildings, facilities, and schools. The Green Communities Division serves all 351 Massachusetts cities and towns by providing technical assistance and financial support for clean energy solutions that reduce long-term energy costs, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and strengthen local economies. Over 90 of the Commonwealth’s population reside in designated Green Communities. Of those 297 designated communities, 169 are also considered environmental justice communities. The benefits of designation extend beyond the program itself, inspiring cities and towns to undertake additional energy-related initiatives, improve coordination between municipal staff and departments, and increase messaging with the public at large about energy and climate-related issues and actions.

The Grants Coordinator’s primary duties will include:

Manage all aspects of assigned Green Communities Division grant programs, including coordinating the development, application process, coordination of the review process, and contract execution
Ensure proper grant recipient documentation and reporting and oversee contract disbursements in coordination with the finance team
Monitor and evaluate grant results (quantitative and qualitative) and communicate program impacts
Oversee the division’s public-facing documents and manage the shared email inbox communications
Support Green Communities Regional Coordinators on various clean energy, energy efficiency, and sustainability programs
This role will act as a backup resource for other Green Communities grant coordination efforts as needed

Program Manager – Portland Solar for All

Energy Trust of Oregon is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to energy efficiency and renewable energy development. We serve Oregon customers of Portland General Electric, Pacific Power, NW Natural, Cascade Natural Gas and Avista, and SW Washington customers of NW Natural. Year over year Energy Trust is recognized as one of the 100 Best Nonprofits to Work For in Oregon.

The Program Manager – Portland Solar for All will build and lead development, strategy and implementation of a five-year initiative to increase deployment of solar to benefit people with low incomes. The Portland Solar for All program is a five-year program funded by grants from the Portland Clean Energy Benefits Fund (PCEF) and the federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Solar for All program paired with public purpose funds from Energy Trust of Oregon. This position is responsible for collaborating with grant partners, building partnerships with community-based organizations, leading the design and implementation of a program to install solar and storage systems to benefit households with low incomes, including enabling upgrades such as roof repairs and workforce development activities to support opportunities in the construction trades. It represents the program publicly, reports on grant activities, manages program subcontracts, and develops and tracks an annual budget of approximately $5 million.

What You’ll Do:

· Lead the development of the grant program strategy and annual budgets to meet goals for project completion and customer participation. Manage a complex budget that layers federal, state and local funding sources to provide no-cost participation for households that meet income qualifications.

· Collaborate with multiple program partners to ensure that strategies and implementation are aligned and coordinated to identify and qualify applicants, meet installation targets and deliver workforce development activities.

· Build a program to support community organizations to work effectively with solar and roofing contractors and to recruit households with low incomes and multifamily developers to install solar and storage systems. Ensure that commitments in community partnership agreements are fulfilled.

· Manage deliverables and budgets for subcontracts with partner organizations.

· Work with staff and consultants to understand and address barriers to completion of solar projects on households with low incomes. Support the development of technical assistance tools and other resources to support these projects.

· Collaborate with the internal solar program team and the Oregon Solar for All coalition to ensure that Portland Solar for All incentives and requirements are smoothly integrated with Energy Trust’s solar + storage program and other statewide programs.

· Establish and manage comprehensive grant reporting and tracking processes that ensure compliance with PCEF, EPA and Oregon Public Utility Commission requirements.

· Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position has no supervisory responsibilities but will oversee the work of contractors, suppliers, vendors and interns as necessary while managing specific program components and other efforts. The Program Manager will work jointly with other staff on coordinating efforts as a team leader.

The Office of Innovation at the University of New England (UNE) is the standard-bearer for innovation at the university and a champion of the institution’s mission to develop creative, sustainable solutions to real-world problems. Our team partners with students, faculty, and professional staff from all units at the University, including business and health professions, marine programs, and social sciences and humanities. We sponsor workshops and events, lead student fellowship programs, support student and faculty research, and oversee physical spaces to extend experiential learning, design-thinking, and entrepreneurship across campus, including the P.D. Merrill Makerspace (comprised of a Fabrication Lab and Design Lab).

The Office of Innovation now seeks a Coordinator for the Sustainable Innovations Center (SIC) in the Girard Marine Science Center (GMSC). This is a full-time, 12-month, professional staff position reporting to the Director of the Office of Innovation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborates with the Directors of the Office of Innovation and GMSC to develop the SIC as a university-wide resource that engages students across all disciplines, including marine and environmental sciences, to foster interdisciplinary innovation, teamwork, and collaboration.
Manages daily operations of the SIC, including project oversight, visit management, and event/activity coordination.
Supports student and faculty projects by setting schedules, coordinating meetings, providing tech/design support, troubleshooting, and collaborating with external mentors and faculty sponsors.
Instructs, assists, and guides students and faculty in the use of the SIC, providing expert-level support on relevant software, hardware, and equipment.
Works with the P.D. Merrill Makerspace Coordinator to manage the SIC schedule of classes, labs, workshops, events, and tours across both campuses and in the community.
Collaborates with the Makerspace Coordinator and GMSC safety team to ensure student safety through training, safety reviews, record management, and compliance with university and industry standards and policies.
Manages equipment and supply upkeep, including research and recommendations, in collaboration with the Office of Innovation and/or GMSC.
Follows Office of Innovation purchasing procedures and ensures the SIC is properly staffed and stocked to meet visitor needs.
In collaboration with the Makerspace Coordinator, supervises student employees and volunteers, including hiring, training, paperwork, and time approval in Compass.
Manages and maintains the SIC website in conjunction with the Office of Innovation and GMSC teams.

In addition to the above, the SIC coordinator will:

Demonstrates a passion for inquiry and experimentation to develop sustainable solutions to social, environmental, and health challenges facing our society.
Collaborates with the P.D. Merrill Makerspace Coordinator, Provost’s Office, GMSC faculty, and university partners to develop projects and deliver workshops and labs for diverse stakeholders.
Support SIC course instructors and provide lab instruction.
Acts as liaison with UNE in support of installing, maintaining, and renewing computers and software images in the SIC.
Assists with evaluating future projects and events and contributes to strategic planning within the Office of Innovation and GMSC.
Helps establish a positive, safe, and professional environment within the SIC.
Supports and participates in special projects, including VIP tours, faculty/staff use of the SIC, and event planning, in consultation with the Director of the Office of Innovation and GMSC.
Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as marine or environmental science, mechanical engineering, and/or computer science; 1-3 years experience in construction, lab support, makerspace, or aquarium management; or a combination of education and experience that would prepare someone to work in a student-facing, hands-on space for making, building, and experimenting.

Ability to work effectively with project teams.
Programming experience in Arduino, Java, Python, and other software used in prototype design.
Application support experience in schematic capture, board design, CAD/CAM, and 3D design.
Experience with the creation of documentation and Design Library.
Experience with data analytics, application development, and/or engineering preferred.
Comfort working with students of diverse backgrounds, skills, identities, and ways of thinking is required.
May be required to work evenings and weekends on occasion.
Ability to drive a university vehicle and provide proof of a valid driver’s license is preferred.

Renewables Staff Engineer

Exciting opportunity to be part of Xcel Energy’s solar-focused reliability engineering team. Get in on the ground floor during the design and construction phase of multiple upcoming utility scale solar farms. Develop and apply in-demand skills to a rapidly growing renewables generation portfolio. Technical skills in SCADA, electrical substations, inverters, reliability engineering concepts, and general solar photovoltaic plant equipment are desired. Position will work closely with Operations and Performance Optimization engineers to achieve top-quartile facility performance. Where appropriate, employee will be asked to apply overlapping skills to Xcel Energy’s established and growing wind generation fleet. Periodic travel to existing and planned generation facilities may be required.

Under general direction, demonstrates complete understanding & wide application of engineering technical principle, theories, & concepts in the field. Independently determines & develops approaches to solutions. Receives technical guidance on complex problems; completed work reviewed for adequacy in meeting objectives. Essential Responsibilities

Uses & applies technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, & techniques to perform activities/assignments that may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials or methods & difficult coordination requirements.

Supports the development of technical documentation (including but not limited to designs, testing, calculations, reports, standards, etc.) Utilizes & may assist with the development of procedures requiring a broad knowledge & proficiency in a specialty area & has a general knowledge of related disciplines.

Works under the general direction of a higher-level engineer or supervisor for routine engineering projects. Provide ongoing technical support for project activities within areas such as Operations, Maintenance, testing/diagnostics & Regulatory. May provide field engineering oversight &/or direction for activities such as commissioning, testing, inspections, etc.

May lead small-medium, non-critical projects. Coordinate/leads critical projects or portions of projects (including phases such as research, design, equipment selection, procurement support, installation & commissioning), under the direction of a higher-level engineer or supervisor. Work reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

Under the direction of a higher-level engineer/supervisor supports bid/evaluation processes including preparation of bid documents, completion of technical evaluations for proposals; provide recommendations for selection, etc. Partners & communicates with areas such as Supply Chain & Legal following appropriate processes.

Frequently exchanges information in all formats, on matters having a wide range of importance & complexity both inter-organizationally & with outside customers.

May assign tasks & coordinate work of interns, drafters, technicians, craft personnel &/or others. Provide guidance & mentoring to less experienced engineers. Responsible for continuous self-development of technical skills & competencies.

Performs activities such as budgeting, estimating, forecasting, accounting, work order management, in support of engineering projects.

Minimum Requirements: Staff Engineer (Salary Range: $79,800-$103,666)

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from ABET accredited curriculum (or recognized equivalency).

2+ year’s relevant engineering experience.

Demonstrated broad knowledge & proficiency in specialty area, knowledge of related specialties, & general knowledge of other related disciplines.

Ability to demonstrate the unique technical skills & core competencies for this engineering level established & documented by the organization.

EIT/FE (Engineer in Training/Fundamentals of Engineering) strongly preferred

Minimum Requirements: Senior Engineer (Salary Range: $94,600-$126,134)

Required bachelor’s degree in engineering from ABET accredited curriculum (or recognized equivalency)

5+ years relevant engineering experience

EIT/FE (Engineer in Training/Fundamentals of Engineering) required

Intern, Clean Transportation

INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

This is a paid internship for current students at an accredited college. The pay rate is from $18 to $20 per hour (with effect from 1/1/2025) based on current class year. This internship will begin on June 2, 2025 and continue through end of Summer 2025.

Interns must be located in New York State or an immediately adjacent state while working. It is expected that interns will follow our telework policy, with a combination of in-office and remote work. Interns work up to 18.5 hours per week during the semester, and up to 37.5 hours per week between semesters, when not attending classes.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist Clean Transportation Program staff in administration of vehicle and charging incentive programs, which includes tasks such as development of marketing materials, event planning, project application review and conducting research to inform program design
Participate in user testing and review of online project application portals
Edit and streamline existing program data reports on key program metrics
Coordinate between NYSERDA program and support staff such as Legal, Marketing and IT Solutions
Support EV Incentives Program Manager and Project Leads on other related tasks
