Energy Resource Developer

NMPP Energy, located in Lincoln, Nebraska is seeking an Energy Resource Developer to join our team. Use your skills, experience, and talents to drive the development of new energy generating resources through strategic partnerships and innovative energy supply solutions. This role will focus on building and maintaining relationships with private developers, other utilities, and partner organizations to identify and execute joint ventures for resource development. The developer will manage the entire partner development process, including drafting and issuing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for energy supply, managing the contract development process, and coordinating all aspects of the project lifecycle to ensure the timely and cost-effective development of new energy resources.

The Energy Resource Developer supports the mission of NMPP Energy by:

Identifying and establishing relationships with private developers, utilities, and other organizations to explore opportunities for joint resource development projects; representing the organization at industry conferences, meetings, workshops, and site visits to expand networks and identify potential partners.
Collaborating with management, the Resources, Planning and Transmission team, and with input from MEAN’s portfolio management consultant, to determine the optimal location, type, and timing of future resources in accordance with the Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) and the Strategic Plan.
Overseeing all aspects of resource development projects, from concept to commissioning, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution, monitor project progress, manage risks, and implement solutions to overcome any obstacles to project success.
Developing, drafting, and managing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for new energy supply initiatives, ensuring they align with the organization’s strategic objectives; evaluating RFP responses, lead negotiations, and recommend the selection of partners based on technical, economic, and operational considerations.
Negotiating and managing agreements and contracts with external partners to ensure alignment with business goals; working with stakeholders to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Staying up-to-date with energy market trends, regulatory changes, emerging technologies, grant funding, and tax incentives to identify new opportunities and potential cost offsets for resource development; conducting feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to assess the viability of potential projects.
Overseeing, to the degree stipulated in applicable agreements and as necessary, the engineering specifications, procurement, and construction activities of MEAN-owned generation and power purchase agreements to ensure quality and lowest life-cycle costs and ensure all resource development projects comply with federal, state, and local regulations; obtaining necessary permits and approvals for projects as required.
Coordinating with the Resources, Planning and Transmission team to prepare the 5-year Integrated Resource Plan and Annual Progress Report for submittal to Western Area Power Administration on behalf of MEAN members.

Skills & Qualifications You Need

Bachelor’s degree in Energy Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, Business or related field and minimum of 5 years of experience in energy resource development, power generation, energy procurement, or project management within the utility or energy sector
Energy industry experience required
Proven track record of developing successful partnerships with external developers, utilities, or organizations
Demonstrated experience with new generation and energy storage technologies and renewable energy projects, such as wind, solar, or hydropower, is highly desirable
Strong understanding of energy markets, regulations, and emerging technologies

Manager, Renewable Development

Invenergy’s Renewable Development team is responsible for generating new wind, solar, and storage opportunities for the company by identifying potential projects and advancing them through the development process. This includes site identification, permitting, resource measurement, establishing interconnection positions and community engagement.

Position Overview

As a Manager, Renewable Development, you will manage the development of utility-scale wind, solar, and storage energy projects throughout the Southern United States. This position will be in our Chicago Office.

Senior Manager, Energy Infrastructure

The Senior Manager, Energy Infrastructure oversees Earthworks’ campaigns to defend frontline communities from the harms of oil, gas, and petrochemical development, such as export terminals, pipelines, and plastics plants, with a geographic focus on the Gulf South and Appalachia. The Senior Manager supervises our team of campaigners, who work in close partnership with local grassroots organizations to advance environmental and climate justice. The role is situated within Earthworks’ Energy Program, reporting to the Energy Program Director.

Core responsibilities:

1) Management:

Directly supervise up to 5 staff members working to slow and stop the expansion of oil, gas, and petrochemical infrastructure.

Assist direct reports with prioritization of strategies in the annual plan in support of community partners, agreed policy and corporate accountability objectives, and support to the team to have a sustainable work life balance.

Ensure that Earthworks’ organizational policies are followed and that the team members are contributing to improvements in organizational health.

Collaborate with other managers within the Energy Program to assist in team leadership.

In collaboration with other budget managers, support budget management for Earthworks’ infrastructure and petrochemicals work, and support the overall financial health of the energy team.

2) Strategy:

Develop and execute strategies for Earthworks’ efforts to stop oil and gas infrastructure and petrochemical expansion, in collaboration with the wider Energy team.

Urban Sustainability Team Overview

The Urban Sustainability team sits within the Land and Communities Impact Area of Programs at the Lincoln Institute. Our work focuses primarily on global cities and their land use management systems but also recognizes the importance of strong urban-rural linkages, is informed by and addresses climate change, and seeks to improve quality of life for all, with an emphasis on historically marginalized communities. The Urban Sustainability team currently manages three programs: Sustainable Urban Form, Climate Mobility and Displacement, and Equitable Urban Greening.
Position Overview

We are looking for a Program Coordinator to join the Urban Sustainability (UrbS) team. You will help us enhance our impact by contributing to our current and future initiatives, including networks, convenings, workshops, place-based pilot programs, research, publications, and communications. You will be an integral member of the team, building thought partnerships while coordinating internally and interfacing with our external audience. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for key aspects of programmatic work, including research synthesis and analysis, and should have an interest in building their expertise in relevant subject matters.

Key responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:

Analyze energy and water data to identify trends, outliers, and cost-saving opportunities
Prepare clear and concise reports on energy and water consumption to support cost avoidance initiatives
Perform energy cost accounting and statistical analysis to uncover inefficiencies
Collaborate with campus personnel and utility companies to resolve utility discrepancies and consumption inconsistencies
Support external benchmarking and the measurement and verification of conservation measures
Conduct life cycle cost analysis and cash flow projections for pilot conservation projects
Develop and publish regular reports on energy and water consumption trends and costs
Interface with campus utility customers to address billing questions and provide insights
Report performance outcomes of energy and water conservation projects to management and regulatory agencies
Develop and publish periodic campus energy and water consumption and cost trend reports
Periodically interface with campus utility customers on billing questions and investigations
Report to campus management and regulatory agencies on periodic energy and water conservation project performance, including measurement and verification reporting
Develop an application to perform required measurement & verification of an Energy Savings Performance Contract. This includes developing queries of time-series data from our data historian and providing formatted output of the data to allow QA/QC of the data for final reporting.
Requires frequent ad-hoc queries to review data and interpret whether anomalies represent errors in metering, communication, or issues with building performance. Also requires familiarity with multiple sources (the data historian, utility billing software, and online portals) from various utility providers to provide reporting, data visualization, and interpretation to provide greater insight into campus energy performance and energy utilization.

Represent NC State at professional meetings and conferences as resources allow

Minimum Education/Experience:

Assistant Director

FABSCRAP is a start-up nonprofit rethinking textile waste in the fashion, interior design, and entertainment industries in NYC. We provide convenient pickup of unwanted fabric and actively engage the local creative community in reuse.

The Assistant Director position is responsible for administrative tasks in support of the Executive Director/CEO, team, and organization. This role will ensure smooth running of the organization’s initiatives, contribute to strategic planning, and facilitate efficiencies and growth in every department to achieve our mission and goals. This is not a management or supervisory position to start, but that is the expected growth track.

We are a small team and everyone contributes beyond their core responsibilities. Teamwork and initiative are a must! Because of the start-up nature of our work, things move quickly, and you’ll have real ownership to define and refine procedures. We are excited for someone to be creative in this role and grow with us.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

A) BUDGET AND FINANCE

Managing FABSCRAP’s financial transactions by processing invoices for both customers (accounts receivable) and vendors (accounts payable) in a timely manner, ensuring accurate and timely payments are received and made, while also resolving any discrepancies and maintaining detailed financial records.

Oversee procurement and revenue of each Department, ensuring expenditures align with the established budget and strategic goals and objectives, and make necessary adjustments to maintain financial stability.

Management of cash drawers, making change, notes, and deposits as necessary.

Oversee all account maintenance, renewals, and vendor relationships.

Main point of contact for FABSCRAP’s dedicated bookkeeper and accounting team.

Assist in annual audits, budgeting, operational planning, and forecasting as needed.

B) HR, TIMEKEEPING, AND PAYROLL

Administrative support in hiring: creating postings, triage of initial candidate pool, scheduling interviews, drafting offer letters.

Manage employee onboarding and exit procedures, including establishing and maintaining digital and physical employee files, setting up time profile, company email, and access to other company accounts.

Administration of all FABSCRAP workplace policies, including an annual review of FABSCRAP’s employee handbook to ensure accuracy and compliance with all required workplace regulations.

Tracking all employee required trainings and professional development.

Manage all assignment, maintenance, and return of all employee equipment, keys, permits, etc.

Oversees all payroll and timekeeping process, including the accuracy and timeliness of bi-weekly timecard submissions and running payroll, employee time and leave administration, tracking holidays, overtime approval, tracking reimbursements, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal taxes and employment requirements. Creating any/all payroll report requests as needed.

Establishing consultant profiles, files, and payment as needed.

Main point of contact for FABSCRAP’s dedicated HR team.

C) FUNDRAISING AND DEVELOPMENT

Lead public fundraising programming and campaign development during key giving moments (Earth Month, Anniversary, EOY, etc), including Monthly Donor recruitment and relationships.

Donor relations, including maintaining donor database and profiles, outreach/recruitment initiatives, appreciation initiatives, retention tracking, and community building.

Lead FABSCRAP’s annual digital silent auction, including soliciting and procurement of in-kind donations, auction site management, acknowledgements and thank-yous to all sponsors and donors, pack and ship all items to winners, data analysis on event performance.

Manage and maintain FABSCRAP profiles on all giving platform, track how each platform disperses funds, and create giving data reports as needed.

Seeking grant opportunities, assisting with grant applications, grant management and reporting as needed.

Assist in creating focused business development and fundraising strategies.

D) INSURANCE AND COMPLIANCE

Manage and maintain appropriate Insurance coverage including policy administration, claims management, risk management. Make sure coverage meets the requirements of donors, landlords, clients, grantors, etc as possible.

Complete annual insurance audits as required.

Monitor for any changes or updates needed to remain on compliance with federal, state, and local laws and agencies. (FDNY, OSHA, etc.)

Review policies and carriers regularly to ensure sufficient coverage, compliance, and manage costs.

E) TEAM, INTERNS, AND OFFICE

Attend meetings, functions, and events on behalf of FABSCRAP and assist with Industry relevant actions: signing letters of support, lobbying, advocacy, supporting partner orgs, etc.

Coordinating Press opportunities and scheduling.

Manage FABSCRAP’s Internship Program. Preparing for each new cohort, determining need and description for each role, administration of all intern agreements and payments, assisting the team with setting goals and priorities, preparing midterm and end of term reviews, correction as needed, and feedback for team.

Celebrating team wins, milestones, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

Other Office admin: checking and processing the mail, updating the monthly Chore Chart, manage phone system, and other office amenities.

F) Budget-Focus: Finding creative ways to reuse materials/equipment to keep expenses low and reduce waste. Seek out repair and maintenance options.

G) Mission-Focus: It’s particularly important for this role to establish boundaries for the team and departments to avoid scope-creep and keep all activities aligned with FABSCRAP’s mission, goals, and values. As an external representative for the organization, understanding and being able to speak to all programs.

H) Teamwork-Focus: Collaborating with all members of the FABSCRAP Team to create a safe, supportive, and productive workplace. Including a commitment to direct and genuine conflict resolution and an open and honest contribution to FABSCRAP’s developing diversity, equity, and inclusion work.

I) Safety Focus: Collaborating with all members of the FABSCRAP Team to create a safe, clean, organized space for our team and visitors. Communicating concerns immediately and assisting with solutions.
OTHER ACTIVITIES (AS NEEDED)

Represent FABSCRAP with clients, donors, volunteers, media, and other external stakeholders.

Ability to cover other departments as needed.

Providing content for social media and annual reports.

Website edits and updates as needed.

Represent FABSCRAP appropriately, honestly, and with a positive attitude.

Provide strategic feedback often to help FABSCRAP grow and succeed

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

At least 3+ years of relevant work experience (nonprofit management, fundraising, finance/accounting, HR, etc)

Creative thinker who can self-manage, meet deadlines, and complete tasks in timely manner.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Ability to build relationships, collaborate and work with a variety of coworkers across teams and external partners.

Ability to jump into tasks as necessary, ask questions, and be agile

Passionate and knowledgeable about sustainability, recycling, and the fashion industry.

Strong sense of the FABSCRAP brand and what it represents; eager to share the company’s mission

Attention to detail is a must, efficient and accurate work is required.

Must be comfortable and flexible within a start-up environment, where programs are always under construction, even as they are running.
