Sustainability Specialist

Purpose: The Sustainability Specialist designs, implements, monitors, and provides assistance district-wide around programs and inititiatives to promote sustainability into all aspects of district operations and continually advances the district toward becoming more environmentally, socially and economically sustainable.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Research, develop, implement and evaluate sustainability practices and systems in the Corvallis School District.
Lead the district in implementation of our Sustainability Management Plan. This includes supporting district department leaders in accomplishing strategies and goals in each area of the plan.
Support district and school-level implementation of policies and goals related to sustainability.
Effectively work with and respond to people from diverse cultures or backgrounds.
Support Oregon Green Schools certification in buildings.
Develop and coordinate sustainability community partnerships.
Evaluate and propose changes to school board policy or administrative regulations related to sustainability as the need is identified (e.g. based on legislation changes).
Facilitate district wide sustainability and wellness advisory council(s) and provide support to the groups’ work efforts.
Assist in the collection of and analyze data in the district’s sustainability activities.
Prepare and review reports, planning documents and other written materials and communications for a variety of internal and external audiences.
Design and implement marketing strategies to develop awareness of and participation in sustainability activities. This may include presentations to classes and businesses, assisting with development of educational materials that correlate with classroom curriculum.
Provide professional development opportunities for staff focused on sustainability as needs are identified.
Lead grant seeking efforts in sustainability.
Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding sustainability.
Work effectively and collaboratively with diverse student, staff and community populations.
Maintain accurate, complete and confidential records as required by law and district policy and administrative regulations.
Utilize technology as related to job responsibilities.
Represent the district by attending and participating in community meetings and events.
Attend and participate in staff meetings and district inservice meetings..
Participate in activities that are related to school functions and/or the education process that occur outside the regular workday, as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in studies related to sustainability, or an equivalent combination of education and experience related to sustainability.
Experience in a position of similar responsibility and complexity, involving project management, sustainability and/or other related disciplines preferred.

Utilities Conservation Coordinator

Summary: Coordinating water conservation programs, projects, and plans. Develops and implements new programs and projects required by system growth, efficiency improvements, and regulatory requirements. A primary responsibility will be managing our Controller Assistance Program, which includes conducting irrigation system audits, analyzing water savings data, and providing customers with recommendations for more efficient water use.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in, Environmental Studies, Natural Science, Planning, and Resource Management or in a closely related field. Two (2) years of full-time experience related to automatic irrigation system design, installation, maintenance, or water conservation program management. OR High school diploma or equivalent with relevant experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Irrigation system installation, maintenance, and repair.

Senior Manager, Sustainability

This position will report to the Sr Director of Sustainability and play a key leadership role in Revlon’s Sustainability strategy development and deployment. The Senior Manager, Sustainability and ESG will help ensure ESG strategy for mandatory and voluntary non-financial reporting and disclosures align to dynamic regulatory requirements, providing oversight for data collection, governance and assurance, and engagement with ESG data requests from regulators and customers.

Major Duties:

Sustainability

Support and collaborate on development of Revlon’s ESG/Sustainability strategy and its operationalization and performance.
Think strategically and creatively about how such issues and topics can drive value and impact across Revlon’s operations. Conduct business case assessments for sustainability related projects
Help to develop and set priorities, making the most effective use of our resources, for the greatest sustainability impact.
Manage sustainability related project cross functionally as needed.
Engage the Revlon employee base on the company’s sustainability strategy and programs by creating and delivering effective communication and training programs.
Maintain a strong technical understanding of environmental best practices, waste management and materials science.
Work closely with Revlon’s R&D experts in raw materials, formulation, packaging, safety & regulatory for data tracking and collection and sustainability related project development and delivery.
Provide quantitative content for both internal and external environmental reporting.
As needed, represent the company in interactions with external stakeholders, customers, partners and serve as the Revlon sustainability subject matter expert with customers.

ESG

Coordinate and collaborate on data collection and organization for ESG related regulation and customer data request.
Lead data collection and assessment for annual global carbon footprint calculation.
Coordinate the work on ESG assessments/ratings (e.g. SBTi, EcoVadis).
Participate in ESG Working group.
Support orchestration of ESG initiatives (e.g. policy reviews, programs, and projects).
Develop and manage (and in some cases identify and introduce) the data systems for tracking ESG performance.
Use previous experience in the ESG field to guide the development of the best operating standards for ESG initiatives and tracking.
Supports the collection and internal reporting on progress toward any new public and internal goals and commitments.
Develop a data governance and review process for all data sets and content to be disclosed publicly in partnership with internal audit and legal function.
Manage reporting assurance process for all data reported publicly.
Monitor the global policy and regulatory landscape and proactively identify emerging regulations that may require ESG reporting or disclosures as a dimension of compliance as part of ESG working group. Stay abreast of new developments in ESG reporting laws and regulations.
Collaborate and participate in periodic ESG updates to the Executive Leadership Team and the Board of Advisors.

Experience

6+ years of experience in Sustainability/CSR/ESG for a mid-large size organization.
5+ years of experience in developing and implementing corporate CSR/ESG strategy and major initiatives.
Direct ESG experience with large and mid-size private sector organization preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Demonstrated expertise on sustainability and the ESG landscape. Should have a broad understanding of commercial, regulatory, and emerging issues and trends in areas related to ESG, supply/value chains, chemicals, plastics and recycling/waste management, as well as working knowledge of US and EU laws and regulations related to the environment and sustainability.
Robust technical understanding of relevant mandatory and voluntary reporting frameworks (GRI, SASB, ESRS and TDFC), rating agencies (MSCI, S&P, CSA, CDP, etc) and standards.
ESG finance related experience and/or sustainability related financial modeling skills a plus.
Teamwork and collaboration skills are important, along with the ability to influence and get buy-in from senior leadership.
Strong written and oral communication skills.

Education & Certification

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution is required.
An advanced degree such as MS/MBA in sustainability management is preferred.

Renewable Energy & Climate Social Science Fellow

The Renewable Energy & Climate Social Science Fellow will further the Wisconsin chapter’s work in climate mitigation, renewable energy deployment and natural climate solutions. As we progress in our 2030 goals, there are many opportunities throughout Wisconsin in agrivoltaics and the public perception of renewable energy that require interdisciplinary expertise in the social and natural sciences. The fellow will be an integral member of the Conservation Science team and interact with TNC colleagues at the BU, division, and regional scales. Furthermore, the fellow will have the opportunity to engage with external partner organizations and agencies as well as the public. The broad types of social science projects the fellow will undertake may include: 1) projects that synthesize existing scholarly work into easily applied and accessible tools, 2) small-scale innovative projects that advance knowledge and/or partner engagement on novel climate mitigation solutions, and/or 3) research on fostering adoption of climate mitigation solutions across communities and sectors.

The Renewable Energy and Climate Social Science Fellow will be involved in a project(s) focused on our renewable energy transition work in Wisconsin and the Midwest more broadly. In conversations with internal and external colleagues across multiple sectors (climate, regenerative agriculture, land management), the Wisconsin Business Unit seeks to generate important knowledge in agrivoltaics and the public perception of renewable energy that will enhance clean energy deployment in the state.

Sustainability Consultant

The Sustainability Consultant will work with single family and multifamily building projects from the design through construction stages. The consultant will liaison directly with the project team’s architects, engineers, and general contractors to ensure successful green building certification outcomes. Daily responsibilities will include both office based and field oriented review of plans and buildings under construction, and may include some existing building work.

Candidates must have excellent organization and task management skills and 3-5 year of related experience in the construction, design, engineering or building science fields. Candidates with skills in energy modeling (REM/Rate and/or eQuest), onsite verification, and/or plan reviews are preferred. The ideal candidate will already hold a HERS, LEED Green Rater, and/or NGBS Green Verifier credential.

Net Zero Specialist

SUMMARY:

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Net Zero Specialist to join our dynamic team in advancing our clean energy and sustainability initiatives. This role will contribute to a diverse range of projects that will help the Prairie Island Indian Community (PIIC) achieve its goal of becoming a Net Zero carbon emissions community. The ideal candidate will have a background in sustainability, energy systems, and project management, along with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. The Net Zero Specialist will report to the Net Zero Program Manager and will work across multiple teams to help shape and implement decarbonization and clean energy strategies at PIIC.

This position may qualify for a hybrid working arrangement of up to three days per week to work away from your assigned work location. This is contingent upon your supervisors’ approval and the satisfactory completion of a 90-day probationary period.

Sustainability Outreach and Program Manager

The Town of Brookline is seeking a dedicated and experienced Sustainability Outreach and Program Manager to support the implementation, promotion, and communication of sustainability initiatives that engage and empower the community.

Sustainability Manager, Climate

This role is critical in designing and managing core components of REI’s industry leading Climate and Impact strategy. It manages and guides the creation of new processes that allow REI to understand, communicate and further operationalize progress against its decarbonization goals. This role manages carbon accounting and reporting for REI while improving carbon data quality and driving actionable insights via innovative and rigorous data analysis. This role will embed climate and broad sustainability goals throughout all product and business divisions at REI. The role requires deep expertise on corporate climate tactics and strategy, the ability to partner across many business divisions, and an inquisitive mindset. The success of this role will be reliant on strategic and collaborative engagement with a broad group of internal and external partners.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Works with sustainability team and key partners to analyze carbon data from across the enterprise, with a particular focus on supply chain carbon data, to drive actionable insights in support of decarbonization tactics and financial investments.
Designs and manages a scalable carbon reporting program that allows for enterprise-level tracking of current state and progress on carbon reduction goals and targets for all of REI. Ensures accountability and transparency with cross-divisional partners.
Works with internal and external partners to build or identify, integrate and manage a carbon accounting and reporting platform that allows for actionable insights and decision-making across all divisions at REI in support of the enterprise climate strategy.
Supports sustainability team and divisional partners on a broad set of carbon and sustainability-related initiatives, e.g. improved carbon data quality, carbon reduction forecasts, and impact reporting approaches and frameworks.
Designs and manages an enterprise-level reporting program that allows for compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and annual and ongoing reporting of climate and sustainability goals and targets for all of REI.
Engages with key partners to ensure the impacts of product design, materiality, and supply chain decisions are understood and managed in pursuit of REI’s carbon reduction goals.
Partners with divisions across the Co-op to evaluate the business case and governance structure for impact and sustainability goals.
Partners with divisions across the Co-op to embed and scale climate and sustainability goals within divisional business plans.
Leverages a design thinking and strategic mindset to work collaboratively across REI to define division-level priorities, problem definition and solutions in support of enterprise-level sustainability goals

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Environmental Management, Sustainability or related field or comparable work experience required.
Master’s in Environment, Business or Strategy preferred.
7+ years of professional experience in a sustainability or environmental discipline — including specific experience in enterprise carbon accounting and reporting.
Demonstrated carbon analysis, financial analysis, and sustainability analysis skills.
Experience creating and operationalizing the business case, insights and strategy for enterprise-level sustainability and impact goals
Extensive prior experience with carbon (greenhouse gas) accounting, including the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol and evolving sectoral standards and practices
Significant proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization. Experience with a carbon accounting technology program preferred.
