Energy Engineers

MaGrann Associates is looking for two Energy Engineers (one in New Jersey and one in New York) who will be responsible for completing performance audits for existing multifamily buildings, including field assessments, utility bill analysis, energy modeling, cost estimating, financial analysis, and report preparation. The Energy Engineer will also perform visual verification of installed measures following audits and act as a technical consultant for clients as well as an interface to program agencies.

Primary Responsibilities:

Coordinate aspects of completion of audits on multifamily buildings and apartment complexes;

Perform on-site assessments, including detailed data collection and performance testing;

Obtain utility usage data from clients and analyze to isolate high usage components/units;

Coordinate or complete energy modeling using appropriate program-approved software;

Coordinate or complete estimation of savings and implementation cost for potential upgrade measures;

Compose audit reports summarizing findings, financial analysis, and recommendation;

Perform site visits to verify appropriate installation of recommended measures;

Obtain post-implementation utility usage information and report actual savings;

Monitor new products and energy industry related developments pertinent to audits;

Monitor incentive program opportunities and assist in development of appropriate product offerings;

Assist in the development of operation tools to improve quality and reduce time to complete audits;

Train and direct administrative and field staff to allow them to cost-effectively perform appropriate audit tasks;

Conduct peer reviews of audits completed by coworkers;

Other duties assigned by MaGrann Associates, including CAD drafting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Minimum of Associates in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Bachelor’s preferred

3-5 years of related experience conducting residential (multifamily) energy audits

Knowledge of HVAC engineering theories and methodologies

Knowledge of building automation and controls

Knowledge of design documents

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

Reliable travel abilities

Sustainability Programs and Technical Services Intern

Basic Functions: Assist the Sustainability and Technical Services teams with routine tasks to assist AMP and our Members with tracking sustainability programs and training services effectiveness, develop targeted marketing strategies, and other matters as assigned.

Essential Functions:

1. Gather data for AMP’s annual sustainability report.

2. Enhance tracking and reporting for Member programs like EcoSmart Choice, Community Energy Savings Smart Thermostat, Grant Services, Apprenticeship and Safety Training.

3. Collect and analyze data to monitor progress with sustainability initiatives.

4. Support implementation of a pilot pollinator habitat installation.

5. Assist with updating and maintaining the searchampsites.com website as needed, including the Business and Community Resources section (Member Community Profiles) and the Sites & Buildings section.

6. Assist as needed with the Efficiency Smart Member renewal process.

7. Assist as needed with the preparation and distribution of the Key Accounts Plus program annual reports to Members.

8. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications:

1. Achievement of sophomore, junior or senior status at an accredited four-year college or university.

2. Engineering, environmental science, or related scientific field of study is required.

3. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.

Building Performance Field Technician

Southern Energy Management (SEM) is seeking a full-time Home Performance Field Technician to perform visual inspections, diagnostic testing, collecting field data and verifying single-family homes to various energy and green certifications such as Energy Star, NGBS, LEED for Homes and more.

Daily Job Duties:

Inspect new residential buildings for code compliance and energy efficient construction features including framing, insulation, air barrier, and HVAC
Perform diagnostic testing for whole house air leakage and duct leakage in new homes to calculate energy efficiency performance
Communicate directly with home builders and trades, to help them meet their energy efficiency and sustainability goals
Accurate, real-time entry of field data into energy modeling software

Required Qualifications:

Fast and accurate data entry
Technical proficiency and basic computer skills
Preferred experience with iOS, Adobe Acrobat, MS Excel, and energy modeling software.
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds for 100 feet unassisted

Clean Transportation Researcher

ICF is seeking a Clean Transportation Researcher responsible for planning and completing project tasks related to vehicle electrification, alternative fuels, emission reduction, transportation decarbonization, and advanced technologies in the transportation sector. Work may include research and writing related to the costs and benefits of advanced vehicle technologies and alternative transportation fuels, development of policy and program recommendations to support accelerated deployment of zero emission vehicles, research on industry trends, writing reports and developing presentations. The City of Portland is seeking a dynamic, visionary, and strategic leader to serve as the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability (BPS) Director. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the City’s efforts in long-range planning and community development, with a strong emphasis on racial, economic, and climate justice.

Director of Sustainability

Provide strategic leadership in all areas of sustainability at UVM including development and implementation of the campus wide Comprehensive Sustainability Plan (CSP). Provide leadership in supervision and direction of the Office of Sustainability staff as well as budget and financial oversight. Collaborate with the University Controller in leading the Socially Responsible Investing Advisory Council (SRIAC) as well as oversight of the Sustainability Campus Fund. Coordinate communications regarding sustainability on campus, interpret related policies and regulations, and ensure compliance. Oversee the gathering and reporting of all data related to sustainability initiatives, alternative energy, energy usage, and carbon emissions, as well as STARS reporting and goals, and coordinate strategic goals with other University partners.

Sustainability and Climate Education Intern

Penn State’s Sustainability Institute is looking to hire a Penn State student intern who will work for at least the remainder of the academic years of 2024-’25 and ’25 to ’26.

This student will assist Penn State Sustainability’s efforts to support the integration of sustainability across Penn State’s curriculum, support best practices for informal and formal community climate change and sustainabilityengagement and education, and setting up workshops for sustainability education and climate planning. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate knowledge of sustainabilityeducation, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, environmental justice, community engagement, and informal community education. Candidates should have a record of accomplishment on sustainability.

Duties may include, but are not limited to: supporting the development of sustainability courses in partnership with university partners, reporting on results of sustainabilityeducation to student, faculty, staff, and administrative stakeholders including University leadership and government agencies, supporting workshops for sustainability education, visiting undergraduate classes to communicate about sustainability and to recruit for sustainability education initiatives, assisting in the logistics of external-facing programming for climate action planning.

Join UB Sustainability as a Sustainability Operations Coordinator. This role involves managing student employees, supporting sustainability initiatives, enhancing communications, overseeing budgets, advancing human resources, managing spaces, implementing sustainable business functions, and coordinating events.
