Sustainability Specialist I

This role supports municipal recycling and sustainability programs while representing CR&R in the communities we serve. You will work with cities, businesses, and residents to promote recycling participation, track program performance, and support environmental compliance reporting.

This position combines data analysis, program coordination, and community outreach to help ensure successful recycling and waste diversion initiatives.

Project Engineer – Energy

Resource Innovations is seeking a Project Engineer – Energy (YL1726) to join our office in Chicago, IL. Partial telecommuting permitted up to 3 days/week.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for conducting technical engineering reviews and inspections of energy efficiency projects in alignment
with standard Energy Efficiency (EE) program guidelines.
Review comprehensive energy assessments/audits for commercial and retail customers.
Perform energy efficiency calculations by using spreadsheets.
Oversee energy efficiency inspections.
Coordinate the day-to-day aspects of inspection including customer communication, scheduling, and inspection assignments. Responsible for overseeing inspection QC process.
Communicate with subcontractors, customers, and clients on high-incentive projects, reviewing equipment and specifications to ensure they meet program requirements and timelines
Manage measure design tasks, develop and review energy savings calculations for different baseline and efficient equipment, and review technical work papers.
Investigate and identify additional opportunities and energy efficiency measures to expand portfolio.
Create and maintain a sustainable method for inspection forecasting and inspection goal tracking.
Provide technical assistance to other teams when clarification about technical topics is needed.
Provide mentorship to junior engineers and other teams on various energy efficiency areas, including inspections, technical engineering reviews, measures design, and inspection tracking and forecasting.
Help improve the program procedures, workflow, and cross-team communication.
Develop training and reference materials for project life cycle.
Oversee the Standard EE program safety program and ensure all teams on the program comply with the required safety standards.

Requirements

This position requires a Master’s Degree or foreign equivalent in Energy Systems, Energy Engineering, Mechanical
Engineering or a related field of study plus 1 year of experience in the job offered or a related occupation in the field of energy engineering.
Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalent in Energy Systems, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation in the field of energy engineering.
In addition, must have prior experience with each of the following:
Designing and working with incentive programs and energy regulations;
Working with several cross-functional teams and collaborating seamlessly across various parties;
Working on several projects at the same time and ensuring their timely completion;
Designing and maintaining the inspection forecast;
Tracking a team’s progress, and ensure the team is on track to meet its goals;
Managing client communications, and scheduling and inspection assignments;
Performing technical engineering reviews of energy efficiency projects;
Performing inspections of energy efficiency projects;
Performing energy efficiency calculations;
Technical assessments for Commercial and Industrial HVAC and lighting systems;

Energy Efficiency Outreach Specialist

They will also work closely with key C&I utility customers to support energy efficiency projects with a focus on customer satisfaction. Program Director

The Southeastern Wind Coalition (SEWC) is a non-profit coalition of industry, academia, partner NGOs, government, and utilities working to advance the land-based and offshore wind industry in the Southeastern U.S. We take a business-minded and economically focused approach to building the case for wind energy, including the wind supply chain.

SUMMARY

The Program Director will be an integral part of both internal and external organizational management; crafting and advancing SEWC’s program and policy priorities, leading internal operations, assisting with organizational strategy and funding development. The Director will manage staff career development, maintain and build new relationships with important stakeholders, and direct other high level business of the organization. Depending on location, this position will build and lead various outreach and education efforts, either directly or in conjunction with Program staff. Position Overview: Our Clean Energy Organizer will work directly with those on the frontlines of clean energy deployment: the regulators who shape resource planning, the developers who install large-scale and distributed clean energy, and the community members most immediately impacted by the climate crisis and the clean energy transition. This position will work to deploy community solar projects, identify low to moderate income households interested in clean energy and connect them with state solar programs, and advocate for large-scale wind projects to move forward on the railbelt. Additionally, this role will engage with the Regulatory Commission of Alaska (RCA) as it creates an Integrated Resource Plan, finalizes regulations for the newly passed community solar program for Alaska and will engage the community on other regulatory dockets including rate cases and net metering regulations. While this role is focused on tracking and engaging with regulatory bodies, community engagement is a crucial piece to ensure that diverse perspectives are incorporated throughout the process.

Wood Advisor Project Manager

Sustainable Northwest is hiring a Wood Advisor Project Manager for our Wood Markets team. The Wood Advisor Project Manager will work closely with our Wood Advisor Specialist and broader Wood Markets team to grow the Wood Advisor Services program. The project manager will serve as a wood advisor to AEC clientele that include some of the largest companies in the US. Wood Advising is an emergent and in-demand role within the green building sector that helps project teams navigate the wood products supply chain to confidently and intentionally source wood in support of forest health, local jobs, and community values. Sustainable Northwest is spearheading development of these services and has supported numerous high-profile projects like the Portland airport project, with dozens more in the pipeline. Preferred start date is April 2026.

Facilities Project & Sustainability Manager

Under the direction of the Associate Vice President of Administration, the Facilities Project & Sustainability Manager is responsible for development, design, planning, and scheduling of campus facilities projects and sustainability initiatives. These projects range from minor alterations and repairs designed to improve, repair, or enhance existing facilities to major remodeling, renovation, and new construction projects from design through construction.

The Facilities Project Manager goals include: maintaining a safe and healthy environment for students, employees, and the community; considering “accessibility” as a priority in all minor and major remodeling and renovation as well as new construction projects; providing project documentation to be shared with the campus community, consultants, contractors, and others; continuously improving facilities project management processes; developing and implementing energy efficiency and sustainability strategies to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations while promoting environmentally responsible practices.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Works with campus “clients” to define project scope, design criteria, budget limitations, and other considerations
Develops estimates, prepares specifications, and provides drawings and documentation
Oversees architectural services relating to new construction as well as remodeling and renovation of existing facilities
Assures compliance with federal, state, and local building and related codes
Provides schedules, post notices, and arranges for work group access
Develops material lists, obtains quotes, secures bids, and drafts purchase requisitions
Reviews contractors’ submittals, conducts pre-bid and pre-construction meetings, and communicates with clients, contractors, consultants, campus construction staff, and the campus community about the impact and progress of projects
Acts as on-site construction coordinator and campus representative on projects
Processes change orders and coordinates the various phases of construction and remodeling and renovation projects
Develops and implements sustainability strategies for all campus users

Monitors project budgets and expenditures and maintains project records
Inspects all ongoing and completed work to ensure project details are completed as planned
