What are we looking for?

The Project Engineer position is responsible for independently performing testing and evaluation on a variety of products to the provisions of U.S., Canadian and other international product safety standards; writing reports; and communicating with clients.

The base wage or salary range for this position is $70K – $85K. What you’ll do:

Read and determine applicability of national codes and standards clauses for the EUT (equipment under test);
Perform testing of products in accordance with standards. Core tests include, but are not limited to: rating, leakage current, dielectric, temperature, pressure, stability, mechanical hazard, flammability, abnormal and fault insurance, rain, radiation, sound, and laser.
Supply information for quotes such as length of project, site needed, rental equipment, samples, and standards that will be used.
Set up and operate standard test equipment including, but not limited to: spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, multi-meter, dielectric strength tester, ground continuity tester, digital multi-meter, surge generator, over-voltage tester, environmental condition chamber, and articulated probes. Use hand tools to build/calibrate test fixtures.
Provide sales support such as attending client visits.
Conduct construction review, create evaluation reports and test plans, conduct and/or witness testing, resolve technical and/or administrative issues to power electronics standards.
Communicate project status and test results to client, sales personnel, and management throughout testing. Provide on-going support to clients as needed.

Sustainability Program Manager, Net Zero Supplier Engagement

R&D Associate – Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency

The Manufacturing Energy Efficiency Research & Analysis (MEERA) Group, housed within the Manufacturing Science Division (MSD) at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), is currently seeking to fill a position for a R&D Associate Staff member. This role entails engaging in research within the domains of renewable energy and the implementation of clean energy technologies on-site, along with their associated supportive technologies (such as solar photovoltaics, solar thermal systems, wind power, renewable fuels, geothermal solutions, battery storage, thermal storage, and industrial heat pumps). The role also involves research and analysis of technologies and practices for increasing the energy efficiency of the industrial sectors. The primary objective is the direct reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions within the industrial sector.

The MEERA Group actively contributes to the efforts of the Department of Energy’s Industrial Efficiency & Decarbonization Office (IEDO) in providing technical assistance. The focus of this assistance revolves around identifying and facilitating the deployment of on-site clean energy solutions. These solutions aim to generate energy that is both flexible and dependable, thereby contributing to the reduction of GHG emissions. Furthermore, these efforts align with the overarching goal of promoting corporate sustainability within the industrial sector.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

The prospective candidate will contribute to the efforts of the MEERA Group’s Onsite Technical Analysis (OTA) Team. Sustainability Reporting Manager

The Assistant Director will plan, manage, and be responsible for a $22m utility budget, focusing on energy reduction and sourcing energy, concentrating on cost and carbon reduction. The Assistant Director will serve as the organization’s subject matter expert for energy and sustainability, partnering with internal and external leaders to establish programs that reduce overall consumption and improve the physical environment for our faculty, staff, and students.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Leads our energy management program, focusing on reducing consumption, carbon footprint, and expenses. Manages the budgeting and procurement program, ensuring that we effectively procure and budget for energy and utility expenses annually, reports on significant variances, and maintains a procurement strategy that matches the organization’s risk profile.
Directs/oversees the energy conservation program, including the energy database tracking of EUIs, building systems energy degradation, building retro-commissioning, and building energy. The annual campus utilities budget is $22.1m.
Serves as the organization’s subject matter expert for sustainability. Establishes programs and systems to measure, monitor, manage, and minimize the organization’s environmental impact, contributing to more sustainable operations. Responsible for staying current with design and sustainability trends and representing the school in operational and construction/design sustainability.
Acts as a critical leader in the Operations and Facilities Management Department’s leadership team and partners with OFMD, WUSM departments, the Office of Sustainability, and our medical center leadership.
Develops and implements regular sustainability reports promoting the successes and progress toward our strategic sustainability goals. The focus of this reporting will be on measurable and reportable impacts within the school, along with the community and global benefits generated from the program; this will be an integral component of our overall campus reporting program.
Assists the Senior Director of Capital Projects, Campus Engineer, and Director of Facilities Engineering with design review of all renovations and new construction and provides support, oversight, and policy direction of MEPFP design standards development and upkeep and MEPFP document management.
Assists the Director of Facilities Engineering and Campus Engineer in planning the physical plant’s overall renewal program.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

A Master’s degree in business administration and/or sustainability would be a plus.
Experience in infrastructure, utility planning, and critical facilities (ABSL3, BSL3, Clean Rooms, etc.).
Proven track record of long-range planning in facilities and utilities, sustainability, and energy management.
Experience in developing and utilizing performance indicators for process assessments and improvement.
Ability to identify and analyze ineffective complex processes and develop recommendations to create streamlined logical processes; an influential team leader, team-oriented, with outstanding interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience collaborating with multiple institutions and coming to working conclusions.
IFMA Facilities Management Professional (FMP) designation.
Knowledge of City of St. Louis building, energy, and zoning codes.
Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri.
Exceptional integrity, intelligence, and maturity. Must be well-rounded in a complex organizational environment and be comfortable operating in a university or academic medical center setting.
A proven track record of creative and energetic problem-solving and demonstrated ability to identify and implement innovative approaches to facility management issues/initiatives.
A strong leader, team-oriented, comfortable making difficult decisions, following through to completion, and applying sound fiscal policy and accountability to the department.
Effective work in both individual and team environments.
Knowledge of industry-standard computer software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, BAS, or similar energy management systems, AutoCAD, and Estimating/Project Management software such as PMWeb.

Required Qualifications

Sustainability Senior Analyst

Equinix is hiring a Sustainability Senior Analyst in the Sustainability Program Office to support Equinix in achieving our climate ambitions. This individual will report to the Environmental Sustainability Program Lead within the Sustainability Program Office and will partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive the company-wide decarbonization strategy in an effort to meet our climate targets and commitments. Candidates will have a strong grasp of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) accounting practices and key decarbonization levers within the ICT sector, and are comfortable working cross-functionally to drive results.

Responsibilities

Partner with internal stakeholders to identify decarbonization strategies across Scopes 1, 2, and 3 emissions

Cross-functionally support the execution of decarbonization projects within the business

Engage with environmental sustainability leads to quantify carbon reduction initiatives, develop internal carbon reduction targets, and measure performance against these goals

Support and facilitate data collection and data management pertaining to Greenhouse Gas (GHG) accounting, reporting, and forecasting

Expectation to grow into an expert on data center, real estate and technology-related sustainability topics including deep expertise in technical sustainability concepts

Grow into a subject-matter expert on environmental sustainability topics (climate resiliency, emissions, energy, water, etc) and key ESG issues

Qualifications

3-5 years of experience in corporate sustainability and GHG accounting

B.S. degree in relevant STEM discipline or equivalent experience (Masters degree preferred)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to translate complex sustainability topics and datasets into concise and actionable insight across a broad range of audiences

Working knowledge of sustainability programs specific to energy, environment and emissions (e.g. CDP, GRI, The Greenhouse Gas Protocol, Science-based Targets Initiative, etc.)

Aptitude and excitement to lead various cross-functional workstreams while engaging a variety of teams at different levels

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams with competing and sometimes urgent deadlines and experience influencing upwards to keep programs and projects moving

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
