Job Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Facilities Operations and Services, the Assistant Director of Sustainability serves as a strategic leader and key driver of Caltech’s sustainability vision. This role leads the Institute’s sustainability strategy, programs, and long‑term climate goals—integrating sustainability into the culture, operations, and decision‑making of the Institute.

The Assistant Director champions Caltech’s sustainability ambitions to internal and external audiences, amplifying Caltech’s reputation as a global leader in environmental stewardship. The role provides direct leadership to the Green Labs and Recycling programs, oversees the Caltech Sustainability Internship Program, and guides campus energy management in partnership with the Energy Manager.

Basic Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in sustainability strategy, programs, and data management.
Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
Demonstrated experience with energy, water, and waste diversion systems.
Experience managing LEED new construction and/or operations projects.

Energy Efficiency Program Analyst

Newport Partners, a leading building sustainability consulting firm, is seeking an Energy Efficiency Program Analyst to support projects focused on building energy efficiency, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction, energy efficiency program management, building codes and standards, green building initiatives, technical communications, and training.

The ideal candidate will bring experience in energy benchmarking utilizing Portfolio Manager and commercial building energy efficiency program implementation. This role requires strong research and analytical skills, excellent written and oral communication abilities, and exceptional organizational skills, along with a demonstrated interest in sustainability.

Qualified candidates will typically have 3–8 years of relevant experience in areas such as energy efficiency consulting, benchmarking, or energy efficiency program implementation. A Bachelor’s degree is required, and professional certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or similar credentials are a plus. Some travel is required. Sustainability Manager

The Alliance seeks a highly-motivated Member Support Associate to assist with the deployment of technical, analytical, and capacity services to help member governors’ offices advance their climate and clean energy priorities. This position leads day-to-day coordination of core supports for Alliance members, including a weekly newsletter distributed to hundreds of governor-office staff and state agency officials; a secure online member portal for governors’ offices to access shared resources; and an online policy database that catalogues thousands of climate solutions being advanced by Alliance states and territories. They also assist with administration of the Secretariat’s capacity-building grant programs, help with research and analysis activities, and provide support for in-person and virtual convenings and Alliance-wide publications. Location: This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits in a flexible in-office work environment located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and New Orleans, Louisiana. The successful candidate will be expected to regularly attend CPEX events and meetings in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and around Louisiana, including some evening and weekend events when necessary.

Salary: The salary range is $125,000 – $150,000 and will be commensurate with the candidate’s level of experience.

Energy and Engineering Manager

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Building Maintenance, the Energy and Engineering Manager is responsible for campus-wide coordination of energy programs, analysis, and the operations and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems across the UMass Amherst campus and outlying stations. The Energy and Engineering Manager plays a key role in advising the University on energy management strategies and CO₂ emission reductions in both operations and capital projects. The University seeks to achieve significant buildings maintenance improvement and cost savings while minimizing environmental impact by reducing its carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in Facilities management in large higher education institutions or similar complex facilities/institutions.

Sustainability Specialist

The Sustainability Specialist is part of the corporate Sustainability team, responsible for the data management aspect of the corporate Sustainability program and supports various aspects of the Sustainability team reporting and communication. This position plays a critical part in setting up and maintaining practices and processes that will support our disclosure, compliance, and sustainability journey. This corporate role works with all company sites, as well as corporate functional leaders across the organization.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., science, engineering. computer science) or business field (e.g., business administration, finance, statistics).

Degree in environmental science, sustainability or similar is a plus.

Experience:

5 years of experience, ideally in a strong process- and quality-oriented environment.

Experience with data collection processes and data management system.

Experience in setting up new processes and/or systems in a changing environment.

Experience with cross-functional project management.

Experience in supporting sustainability initiatives in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
