DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Acts as a sustainability champion for the Narragansett Bay Commission to promote, in accordance with the Strategic Plan, all aspects of sustainability including but not limited to energy efficiency, renewable energy management, and reducing/characterizing carbon footprint. This position monitors NBC’s Power Production Agreements (PPAs), Net Metering Credits (NMCs), and Renewable Credits (RECs), tracks, monitors, and comments on renewable energy legislation. This position is responsible for writing grants to fund NBC initiatives focused on sustainability topics such as greenhouse gas reductions, climate related compliance issues, disposable wipe issues, and wastewater management. Perform performance tracking and analysis for renewable energy production and energy consumption. Work closely with Finance and Accounting to ensure accurate billing. Collaborates with all NBC Departments on sustainability projects to determine feasibility, implementation, and construction. Tracks outputs of completed projects. Assist the NBC Legal Department by reviewing proposed legislation and state programs. Plan, present and/ or coordinate seminars, workshops, articles, case studies, newsletters, research proposals, etc., targeting at educating the regulated community and Narragansett Bay Commission. Publish research, data findings, and treatment plant performance when possible and update projects and findings on the NBC website. Reviews State of Rhode Island Legislation related to renewable energy and sustainability that could have an effect on NBC. Review technical materials (journal articles, manufacturer’s literature, regulatory records, internet websites, etc.), corresponds with others (environmental regulators, universities, schools, trade organizations, equipment vendors, technical consultants, industry representatives, etc.) and participates in seminars/ workshops for the purpose of remaining updated on industrial performance levels and emerging technologies and regulations that may impact on the regulated community. Required to write technical abstracts and conduct presentations related to NBCs energy and sustainability initiatives. Maintain and up-to-date and accurate database/ file(s) of all work performed and maintain a library of technical resource materials. Identify suitable grant programs and prepare grant applications for sustainability projects. Establishes and fosters strong community relationships with state and local agencies, universities, and peer organizations. Hosts tours of wind turbines and bio-gas facilities for university students. Perform other duties as assigned, within skill and experience capabilities.

Principal Air Quality Specialist
ABOUT THE POSITION
The Department of Environment and Sustainability is seeking qualified candidates for a Principal Air Quality Specialist (AQS). The Principal AQS position supervises, reviews, evaluates and assists with the work of professional and technical support staff involved in air quality planning, including undertaking projects of their own. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Function)
This role is responsible for data collection, data analytics, project management and disclosure reporting for BHE’s Sustainability Program. The position will report to the Chief Environment and Sustainability Officer (CESO) and drive the long-term integration of people, process and technology solutions, enabling BHE to track performance KPIs and develop formal action plans and projects to reduce its environmental footprint. The analyst must be comfortable in managing complex and multi-faceted projects that involve data, analyses, training and change management. An ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple projects and collaborate cross-functionally.
Typical Duties

Energy Conservation & Sustainability Program Manager
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Under general supervision, supervise assigned staff, develops, implements and maintains the energy conservation/management & sustainability programs within the Facilities Management Department. Programs include utility consumption monitoring, energy and water conservation management, solid waste & recycling management, and education & engagement of students, staff, and the public in District sustainability practices. Performs related work and special assignments as required.
EXEMPLARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops and maintains the District’s Sustainability Action Plan including current sustainability initiatives, short-term initiatives, and long-term initiatives. Identifies significant sustainability cost saving measures within the District and develops implementation plans.
Works with the Grants Department to identify, facilitate, and coordinate grant opportunities and governmental & utility funding programs aimed toward sustainability.
Coordinates with state, regional, and local agencies and organizations to coordinate and facilitate sustainability policies and programs that benefit the District and the region.

Work with site administrators and staff to develop and implement operational strategies to minimize energy consumption. Regularly meet with facility staff to ensure these strategies are implemented and followed on an ongoing basis with the ability to work flexible hours and shifts.
Develop and distribute materials to staff to emphasize the need for energy conservation.
Work with maintenance staff to develop, implement, and continually update maintenance and preventive maintenance practices to obtain energy consumption savings.

Solar Technician
Solar technicians assemble, install, and maintain solar panel systems that provide solar power on rooftops or other structures. They take measurements to install each solar panel, cut panels to fit, perform tests, troubleshoot, and fix issues. They are also tasked with maintaining installed solar panels as needed and meet with clients to discuss their needs for a solar energy system, explaining the installation and maintenance process, and following up with them to ensure that their system works properly.

Project Manager
Spark Northwest is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team of local clean energy innovators. This person will work closely with community partners, providing coaching and support to develop clean energy plans and projects. A focus area for the new project manager will be working with rural and remote groups, including Tribal Nations, to engage in energy planning with support from technical advisors from the national laboratories. Another area of focus will be partnering with a variety of community-based organizations interested in pursuing clean energy projects. Some examples include: a food bank seeking grant-writing help to add solar to their facility or a community center hoping to create an energy resilience hub with solar and battery storage. A successful candidate will need to be sensitive and responsive to each group’s culture and workflow. They will also need to have project management experience, providing step-by-step assistance to walk projects from planning and design to funding and installation. This position reports to the Program Director and works closely with program staff.

The Project Manager II salary range is $85,000 to $93,000 annually. Sustainability Manager
Under the general direction of the Vice President of Community Operations, the Sustainability Manager (“SMâ€) leads Columbia Association’s energy management, watershed management, and broad sustainability initiatives. This position takes a primary role in developing, managing, and maintaining environmental programs in the community that are designed to help residents and businesses address complex emerging environmental issues. The SM works within CA operations to reduce energy use, greenhouse gas emissions, and environmental impact while also working to increase the quality and resilience of natural resources broadly. The SM also oversees CA’s watershed management efforts and participates in broader environmental focus areas that may include invasive species management, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, open space management, and waste disposal. The SM oversees collecting and analyzing environmental data such as facility energy audit and utility information, soil test results, water quality measurements, and best management practice site inspections, among other duties. The SM also provides community outreach and volunteer coordination to ensure successful environmental program implementation.
The SM will also play a primary role in developing Community Operations engagement activities to educate and empower the community and make Columbia a leader in environmental sustainability.

Oversight of volunteer environmental program implementation, including Columbia Cleans, Adopt-A-Spot, Weed Warriors, Watershed Stewards, and pollinator garden maintenance. Support of these programs includes the following:
Developing materials for presentations and dissemination within the community
Organizing and leading public meetings
Responding to resident requests
Support CA’s non-native invasive plant management program and associated community engagement efforts
Support electric vehicle charging station infrastructure development and electric vehicle acquisition practices within the organization
Oversee CA’s water quality monitoring program
Support routine inspection of bioretention facilities and other BMPs throughout Columbia to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal policy
Supervise and coordinate volunteer participation in water sampling as part of the Stream Waders program
Work with partners, including the Howard County Watershed Stewards Academy, Howard County Government, and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources
Creates and managers GIS layers and updates environmental program mapping
Purchase supplies required for capital, operational, and volunteer-based projects in a timely manner to ensure projects are within budget and meet deadlines
Support grant application efforts associated with state and federal environmental programming
Maintain LMS Compliance

Proficient in Google applications, Adobe Professional, and GIS mapping platforms.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or related field and 6 years of experience
Master’s Degree in Environmental Science or related field and 4 years of experience

Decarbonization and Environmental Programs Manager
The Decarbonization and Environmental Programs Manager will be responsible for championing and leading decarbonization efforts within the company, and to meet Porsche’s strategic goal of achieving net carbon neutrality by 2030. The position will also be responsible for maintaining and developing the companies Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and to retain the companies ISO14001 EMS certification. The position will be based at our Atlanta headquarters, and will cover areas of responsibility at all Porsche facilities throughout NA; including the ATL headquarters, ATL and LA Experience Centers, GA, CA and PA distribution centers, and CA and PA technical training centers.
Roles & responsibilities
Champion and lead the companies carbon emissions reduction efforts, including but not limited to;
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to identify, track, and report carbon emissions status
Support internal stakeholders with design, implementation and maintenance of carbon emissions reduction initiatives
Lead design, implementation and maintenance of Corporate Facilities carbon emissions reduction initiatives
Lead design, implementation and maintenance of carbon emissions tracking and reporting platform, and key performance indicators,

Lead internal and external audit reviews and ensure timely and accurate close out of all action items
Ensure compliance with internal policies, and all applicable regulatory requirements

Energy Conservation/Sustainability Manager
Purpose Statement
Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent CBO and the Director of Facilities Maintenance and Operations, plans, organizes, coordinates and implements the Districts energy conservation and sustainability initiatives; oversees the development and implementation of the TTUSD Energy Conservation Guidelines, and tracking of energy conservation and sustainability goals; researches and recommends energy conservation and sustainability improvements and project opportunities; develop and implement a proactive communications strategy to inform and educate TTUSD staff about energy conservation and sustainability efforts and opportunities.
