About the role

As an Energy & Sustainability Data Coordinator, you will be an integral part of our global Energy and Sustainability Team, contributing to our efforts to enhance data management, analysis, and reporting. You will support both energy-specific and sustainability-specific queries, helping us track, analyze, and communicate our progress toward sustainable goals and targets. The role involves understanding both the information and data provided directly from utilities and the data provided by landlords who recharge us. Data management

Assist in the collection, organization, and maintenance of global energy and sustainability data from various sources, ensuring data quality and accuracy.

Implement data management best practices to establish structured and reliable datasets for the companies energy & sustainability information.

Data analytics

Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities related to energy consumption and sustainability metrics.

Generate actionable insights and recommendations to improve energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.

Help to identify efficiencies across the energy & sustainability programme to reduce consumption, carbon and costs.

Support procurement decisions relating to energy contracts and our transition to green/renewable energy.

Willingness to learn BMS/Sub-metering systems in order to run analysis to identify anomalies and work with local and global teams to investigate and resolve issues identified.

Reporting

Develop and implement a suite of actionable reports for internal stakeholders based on the analysis undertaken that helps drive positive business results and informs strong business decisions.

Assist with external (member) energy and sustainability reporting.

Aid the preparation and management of energy & sustainability datasets for both our mandatory and voluntary reporting disclosures.

Collaboration and improvement

Working cross functionally to collect global energy & sustainability data

Engage with other key functional areas of the business (such as Technical Services, Capital Projects) regarding ongoing projects and progress.

Communicate and collaborate with global territory facilities teams to understand regional differences in energy and sustainability markets and practices.

Support the wider Global Energy and Sustainability team with the ongoing energy & sustainability strategy.

About you

Educated to a suitable level in a related field (e.g., Environmental Science, Data Science, Sustainability, Engineering).

Proven experience in data analysis, preferably in an energy or sustainability context.

Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as Excel/Google Sheets, Tableau, Snowflake, Power BI, SQL, data visualization tools and dashboards.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data findings in a clear and concise manner.

Job Summary

Manager, Sustainability & Resiliency

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Manager, Sustainability & Resiliency will primarily be responsible for facilitating and ensuring the implementation and integration of sustainability and resiliency practices and policies. Manager identifies, assesses and resolves problems concerning all airports within the Indianapolis Airport Authority’s (IAA) system of airports. This position will interact with IAA staff, airport tenants, contractors, consultants, federal agencies, and potentially community leaders and neighborhood organizations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Manage the IAA’s sustainability and resiliency program.
Oversee the development of the Indianapolis International Airport Sustainability Management Plan (SMP); implement sustainability and resiliency initiatives as outlined in the plan, monitor achievement of key performance indicators, and make revisions to achieve the IAA’s sustainability and resiliency goals
Report on IAA’s sustainability efforts which include both qualitative and quantitative metrics; identify trends and recommend opportunities for improvement
Perform research and provide subject matter expertise in all or some of the following: energy management, greenhouse gas tracking and reduction strategies, electrification and alternative fuels, water consumption and quality, land management, waste reduction, proactive environmental programs, operational sustainability, climate and operational resiliency, and community and social well-being

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a degree in sustainability, environmental management, environmental science or a related field.
Ten to twelve (10-12) years of environmental or sustainability experience within the public and private sectors.
Strong leadership skills with minimum two to three (2-3) years of experience managing direct reports.
Ability to provide strategic focus.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, tenants, government officials, airport officials and fellow employees.
Knowledge of applicable permits and regulations required for airport operations.
Ability to effectively impact tenants and airport entities to ensure regulatory compliance for the IAA.

Environmental Planner

We are seeking a skilled and experienced (2+ years) NEPA Planner to join our Nashville Environmental Team. As an NEPA Planner, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance process for both transportation and renewable energy projects. You will work closely with project teams, government agencies, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with NEPA regulations and facilitate the timely delivery of projects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in NEPA planning.
Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage the NEPA compliance process, including the preparation of Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), Environmental Assessments (EA), and Categorical Exclusions (CE)
Conduct thorough reviews of project documentation, including technical reports, studies, and analyses, to ensure compliance with NEPA regulations.
Collaborate with project teams to identify potential environmental impacts and develop appropriate mitigation measures.
Facilitate public involvement activities, including public meetings and hearings, to gather input and address concerns related to NEPA compliance.

The City of Hayward is excited to announce its recruitment for the position of Sustainability Specialist/Senior Sustainability Specialist within the Environmental Services Division housed in the Public Works & Utilities Department. In January 2024, the Hayward City Council adopted an updated Climate Action Plan with ambitious goals to combat climate change. This is a unique opportunity to help design and lead innovative programs that will help Hayward reach its long-term greenhouse gas reduction targets. We are seeking a passionate environmental professional to support the City’s building electrification, environmental justice, solid waste reduction, recycling and composting, and electric vehicle initiatives. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Sustainability Specialist – This journey-level classification performs a wide variety of complex, non-routine functions in support of the assigned department. Incumbents require knowledge of basic principles and methods of one or more technical or professional fields in order to perform the duties and functions of the position. This position is distinguished from similar City-wide classifications in that it has responsibility for a specialized program. Advancement from the journey level to the Senior Sustainability Specialist level is in accordance with City policies and procedures, including receiving recommendation for advancement from the respective Department Director or designee.

Senior Sustainability Specialist – Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and may be filled by advancement from at least three (3) years of experience at the lower level of Sustainability Specialist or by candidates possessing at least three (3) years of experience equivalent to that of a Sustainability Specialist, demonstrating the ability to perform the Senior Sustainability Specialist duties. This advanced journey-level classification is distinguished from the Sustainability Specialist position by the level of responsibility assumed, difficulty and complexity of work performed, independence of action taken, and by the nature of the public contact made. Employees are required to be fully trained in all procedures related to assigned area of responsibility and perform the most difficult and responsible types of duties assigned to classes within this series including analysis and administration. Sustainability Manager

SUMMARY

Responsible for managing, planning and providing leadership for the Solid Waste Program, Zero Waste Initiative, Recycling Program, Yard Waste Program and Commercial Waste Program, Development Review (as relates to solid waste management) and Strategic Planning for the solid waste program and the Zero Waste Initiative projects (including planning, development, implementation and analysis).

The Sustainability Manager creates strategies to make the workplace greener and is also responsible for communicating and marketing sustainability campaigns to internal and external stakeholders. Will working closely with internal staff, Communications and Marketing, and vendors to educate and inform on the sustainable changes to be implemented and how they will impact the environment and workplace. This position will be responsible for being the environmental steward for the City’s Solid Waste Program and related initiatives.

The Sustainability Manager reports to an assigned supervisor. Work in this class is distinguished from higher classes by its emphasis on Solid Waste/Recycling Programs and Zero Waste Initiative and from lower classes by its departmental, managerial responsibility.

Energy Conservation Engineer

Arcadis DPS is seeking an experienced Energy Conservation Engineer to support our client in the reduction of utilities consumption footprint and meet sustainability goals. The successful candidate will drive the and help further refine and define the Clients utilities management strategy for TD facilities. The Energy Engineer will collaborate with facilities teams to identify, fund and implement utility consumption reduction projects. Congressional Fellowship Program

The Climate Solutions Foundation Congressional Fellowship Program is a one-year program that offers a unique opportunity to individuals early in their careers, and those completing their graduate school education, who are interested in climate policy. Selected fellows are placed in a Republican or Democratic office committed to durable policy solutions to advance the agenda on climate.

Fellows bring a deep understanding of climate science in order to help inform the development of responsible, bipartisan climate policies. They work alongside congressional staff in drafting legislation, conducting oversight work, preparing speeches and briefs, and assisting with committee hearings, events, and more. This program provides valuable insights into crafting and advancing legislation, and offers an opportunity to build a strong professional network.

Up to two fellows will be placed from August 2024 to July 2025, in the U.S. Senate, House of Representatives or with a Congressional Committee. The salary for the fellowship is $80,000, plus a $200 monthly reimbursement for health insurance coverage.

Qualifications & Expectations

Qualified candidates must be a U.S. citizen, have a science background, and have or finalize by August 2024 a Master’s Degree in climate, environmental science, or a relevant field. Candidates must be able to translate complex ideas and dense topics into easily understood written and verbal communications and have a desire to combat climate change through pragmatic solutions.

This is an in-person position in Washington, D.C.. COVID-19 vaccination is required for selected fellows.

Climate Education Fellow

Mass Audubon recently launched our Action Agenda, a five-year plan to address the rapid loss of wildlife habitat, inequitable access to nature, and the threat of climate change. Environmental Education and Community Engagement are key strategies in achieving goals focused on increasing equitable and inclusive access to nature across Massachusetts. The Climate Education Fellow will be part of the Education and Engagement Team, a hybrid role based out of one of Mass Audubon sanctuaries and will have the opportunity to play a key role in educational program planning, implementation, and evaluation. Working with educators throughout the state, they will support the Climate Democracy Project (CDP), an interdisciplinary climate education and action program for secondary teachers and students. The goal of the CDP program is to increase the capacity of our secondary school teachers to incorporate solutions-based, justice focused climate education into their curriculum. The program includes direct instructions with students, connections with local partners, and professional development for teachers, as well as the development of digital resources to support students and teachers scaling the program.

Work with a cross disciplinary team of educators, managers and other wildlife sanctuary staff to prepare and conduct activities for community engagement and educational initiatives, with an emphasis on connecting with marginalized communities
Asst in the development of an evaluation plan for the Climate Democracy Project
Attend and actively participate in statewide and regional staff meetings, professional learning communities, and professional development trainings related to your area of focus
Maintain the safety of all participants and staff as a priority and maintain strong accountability to Mass Audubon’s risk management policies, child-environment guidelines, and all pertinent licensing regulations and accreditation standards
Effectively communicate and represent Mass Audubon’s mission, vision, and programs to students, teachers, visitors, members, and community members

Must Haves

Must obtain a Bachelor’s degree by the start of the fellowship. Degrees or fields of study especially suitable for this work include: Biology, Education, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Studies and Sustainability, ecology, earth science, or related field
Strongly values the critical role that community engagement and environmental education programs play in helping to build healthy, vibrant and equitable communities
Experience leading environmental education programs for children or teens, or any equivalent combination of education and related experience
Excellent writing and speaking skills
Familiarity with and passion for culturally responsive teaching and/or other equity-based pedagogy
Familiarity with climate justice education and/or communication best practices
A growth mindset, with the ability to be self-reflective and an eagerness to improve one’s own skills.
Strong project management skills, including organization of tasks, listening to input from team members and community members, synthesizing information from a wide array of sources, problem solving on a day to day and long-term basis, and the ability to move a project forward with input from others
Solid skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)

Nice to Haves

Knowledge of local natural history, conservation, and climate-related issues
Experience designing and delivering climate change and climate justice education programming or equivalent

Compensation, Benefits and Perks
This position’s pay range is $50,000-$55,000/year; actual salary will reflect level of experience and qualifications relative to position requirements.

Sustainability Director

Job Summary

The Sustainability Director for the Town of Hanover is for a knowledgeable, creative, organized, and passionate individual who has the skills and experience to direct and coordinate the Town’s significant sustainability efforts, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to continue to help make the Town of Hanover a leader in sustainability and a driver of progress among community and regional stakeholders.
Major Job Duties

This position is responsible for the creation, management, and coordination of the Town’s Sustainability efforts, and has duties and responsibilities which include:

Directs and coordinates the Town’s sustainability efforts.

Provides technical expertise and leadership to internal and external stakeholders in evaluating key opportunities to achieve sustainability goals, such as the “Ready for 100” goals and Master Plan goals.

Provides onsite staffing and meeting support to Sustainable Hanover, its subcommittees, as well as other committees and boards as needed, which may include preparing and distributing agendas, providing technology and meeting logistic support, and/or writing and distributing minutes or follow ups.

Provides regular reports on sustainability efforts and trends and special analyses and reports for the Planning Department, Public Works, the Town Manager and other departments as needed; provides technical assistance as requestedand provides sustainability updates in for the Selectboard and other Town stakeholders, both in reports and at meetings.

Designs and implements community outreach and engagement programming related to the Town’s sustainability efforts, including communications, social media, and writing and distributing web based content.

Helps coordinate sustainability efforts among the Town’s departments and staff, boards and committees, and community stakeholders and groups working on sustainability initiatives with the Town, including attending various community meetings and providing regular updates to stakeholders.

Maintains a current knowledge of professional, technical, and legal trends relating to sustainability issues.

Directs the Town’s efforts in securing, coordinating, and administering grants related to sustainability.

Provides public facing engagement about the Town’s sustainability efforts, such as meeting with members of the public, and other local and regional stakeholders concerning sustainability and speaking to local media.

Assists in sustainability related budgeting, including for capital improvements, by providing advice and feedback related to sustainability initiatives, equipment, vehicles, and facilities throughout the Town’s budget process.

Performs related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a course of study related to sustainability. Graduate degree preferred.

At least three to five years of related work experience, preferably which includesexperience related to sustainability efforts, project planning and management, community outreach, and municipal operations.

Knowledge and Skills Required

Knowledge and passion of sustainability and renewable energy theories, principles, and practices.

Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations regardingsustainability.

Knowledge of municipal governmentoperations.

Skill in multi-stakeholder coordination and collaboration.

Skill in directing municipal sustainability work.

Skill in project budgeting, management, and communication.

Skill in operating a computer and related software and systems, such as Microsoft cloud products and ability to learn new commonly used systems.

Ability to drive or access public transportation such as to be able to regularly attend Town, community and regional sustainability meetings throughout the Upper Valley.

Ability to periodically work outside of normal hours as meeting schedules may require (Flex schedule allowed).
