Senior Renewable Energy Technician

The primary responsibilities of a Senior Renewable Energy Technician are a full range of duties associated with the operations and maintenance of Dominion Energy’s renewable energy and battery storage facilities, both energized and deenergized. A Senior Renewable Energy Technician is the top level in the Renewable Energy Technician job progression. Facilities Project Coordinator – Sustainability

Job Summary

Serves as project leader for small to medium size projects to improve county policies, programs, and initiatives that promote environmental, economic, and social sustainability. Responsible for the overall execution of the project, including design, budget, and schedule on behalf of the Environmental Sustainability Unit and community-based projects. The projects are short to medium in duration and small to medium in budget. Performs responsible administrative and professional work of a complex nature including supporting the ideation, development, implementation, and evaluation of community-facing sustainability programs for Oakland County. Includes supporting the start-up of new projects and managing projects of significant internal and external community involvement. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.

Minimum Qualifications

Environmental Sustainability Project Manager

Renewable Energy Project Developer

The Project Developer will organize and manage multiple tidal energy projects in Alaska’s Cook Inlet and contribute to efforts around the world. This position will entail development activities including schedules and deadlines, site characterization, permitting and licensing and stakeholder outreach. Represent ORPC at industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market trends, networking results, etc.
Ability to articulate complex science and engineering topics to diverse audiences
Technical writing proficiency for proposals, reports, permitting, environmental and market studies.
Monitor compliance to applicable codes, permits, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
Manage, review, and coordinate projects and proposals developed in-house or by consultants.
Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
Ability to work with diverse, multi-disciplinary teams.

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in, Environmental Sciences, Ocean Engineering, Marine Policy or related field.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Knowledge of ERP systems and database software.
Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience with energy project development or similar projects, including: writing scope of work, scheduling, budgeting, document interpretation, pricing on hard bid, bid analysis, design-build, and negotiated projects.
Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.

Physical Requirements

This position will primarily be desk work but will require on site participation at times. While performing desk work, the candidate must be able to spend prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be willing to travel to remote locations, both domestic and international.
Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Able to lift 15-20 lbs. frequently.
This position is based out of Anchorage with the ability to work remotely.
