Environmental Services Director

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops and implements the County’s Solid Waste Management Plan, Comprehensive Water Management Plan, Comprehensive Land Use Management Plan, and related programs and policies.
Reviews and actively participates in local PUC projects and related initiatives.
Oversee development of long-range plans, department programs and services.
Direct and supervise employees and activities within the department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of the following:

Ecology and contaminant source impacts
Federal, state and local regulations relating to natural environment protection and land use
Principles of budgeting and accounting
Management and supervision
Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to set priorities, establish goals, and allocate resources effectively.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Four-year degree in environmental sciences, engineering or related major.
Valid Minnesota Driver’s License required.
Must complete a criminal background check.

SALARY RANGE: $102,627 – $140,691
